Good storm kicked off about 7/8 miles west of town... can here the occasional rumble... closes we had had all day. Heading into Wales.

Don't think that cell is heading our way @SarahWxm I'd keep an eye on a line from Ellesmere/Whitchurch down towards Wolverhampton as that should head this way based upon the direction the showers are moving.

Keep your eye towards Wolverhampton too, seems to be some showers there, perhaps it'll intensify.

Phone app flitted from 80-90% chance of rain today, to completely dry all afternoon (lunchtime). Now it’s showing 40% T’storm risk at 17:00

No activity round here but clouds have started to tower so I'm optimistic.

Yeah... was half tempted to steal the wifes car and chase the one heading to wales, but its got a bit of a head start... keeping a close eye on radar and if anything develops nearer here will head out.

Had a few rumbles of thunder from this to the west between Poynton and Manchester airport.

Oooh nice one! That's the second funnel cloud seen today from this forum, although this one looks more developed!

Storms starting to form over Wolverhampton again, exactly in the same position as yesterday.

WOW that's beautiful

that's quiet some way down but hard to judge by the terrain and that image looks closer to the ground but i bet it drops off behind those hills.

A storm  not far away from me. Still don’t think it will reach here because  of the sea-breeze although it doesn’t seem to be having much affect on the temps 21.0°C.

Well played Sir

Just goes to show when you live in those areas you know your local conditions and what is good for storm chances. Something the models do not seem to factor in (ref local effects from Sea Breeze Convergence) much the same as Upslope Flow in the USA with the models always 3-4 hours ahead with precip not allowing for them not moving into better moisture on the Plains and milling about in the Mountains
