could it be possible that the convergence zone has suddenly switched more towards the south east? because i cant see any development anywhere else currently hmmm

There was modelled convergence for parts of N/NW Kent but it doesn't amount to much on the models. Just showers really.

Please tell me your kidding right ?? The Met Office although not my number 1 fan did put the warning in the correct place just their timing were out due to the Cap holding longer than planned. You are in the perfect position for today and your dewpoints promote thunderstorms, and tomorrow and wednesday as well.

Update on the MCS for the SE which maybe would have been our saviour is rapidly going downhill with it staying the other side of the channel and hardly any models going for this now.

Keeping an eye on that stuff over Le Harve/Rouen

Agree, risk has definitely shifted east, or more likely, expanded East rather than shifted.

Cheers buddy where are you too?

mill be heading back overnight as we are looking good for storms potentially in the SW tomorrow though it’s still touch and go whether they will fire up as nothing really does in the SW hence why I come up now haha.

Im a couple of miles west of Birmingham, in the Oldbury area, looking good around here for the next couple of days!

And looks like you've got a fair amount of travelling to do!

Can't beat a lovely clear, bubbly, brilliant white tower like that against a blue sky!

Some towers definetly starting to rise all around now, wondering if I should put my camera up where I took this photo and do a time lapse

Although the Convection looks pretty down  here (TimeLapsers Dream) there does seem to be a substantial cap in place which should only allow for showers. Still on track in the favoured areas which have the moisture

I was only having a laugh. I know the Met are generally alright I just thought it was ironic what happened on Saturday.
about today I see what you’re saying  but I just can’t see anything happening with this sea-breeze and with the steering flow being so weak. I think nothing will get within 10 miles of the coast.

On the radio the ‘severe’ term was mentioned but I really don’t see today as any like that. Maybe some pop-up showers with thunder but nothing sustained or significant. Tomo and weds are better opportunities

Absolutely thrown it down here. Intensified right over me.

i must say for 0risk of thunderstorms in the south east there are a lot of developing clouds heading here from the english channel.... anyone else seeing this?

Yep, not sure what they'll do yet though, the ones I see keep building fast then dropping a bit then building again.

Yep, sun is trying to make an appearance here now, patches of blue sky too. Are you staying local today?

That's my plan, although it is still cloudy here and so no heating as yet. Storms today will by very slow moving and will tend to backbuild over the same areas and so if somewhere close by gets hit I will be willing to drive a short distance. No long distances today though as I have work to juggle with storm tracking, at least not until after 5-6pm.

Euro4 shows an area of intense precipitation sitting just to my north (Matlock/Chesterfield) from this evening into the first part of the night. Check out the 6 hour accumulation chart from 6pm to midnight courtesy of weatheronline.co.uk

Well, we've got some towers bubbling away here, probably the most that's going to happen this far south!
