How on earth has Stoke on Trent avoided these storms today - Madness seems to be something going on with the Penines killing them as someone else has said further up

We didn't get anything yesterday till the big one came through at about 8:30/9 o'clock-ish. Still some time left.....

I wouldn't normally post a Weather for the Week Ahead video in here, but here's Tomasz's take on what should be quite a convective one:

There are some parts of the UK which have had more rain this month than the whole of spring and there are further showers and thunderstorms to come in the week ahead.

yesterday storm was 20 miles too far west...today there was a storm over Shopshire just to west of us, now there is a storm over Derbyshire just to east of us..how do we always manage to miss them, always just too far west or east of my location..very annoying.

That's exactly what happens here. Always in the middle of nothingness. Today everything developed quite literally over us and headed northwest.

Some great skies all around to the south from here before the overhead muck from the Matlock storm drifted across, large towers and building CBs with Pileus caps shooting skywards. Nothing sferic wise anywhere near me for now, but like with yesterday i'm expecting the peak to be at around sunset.

This lot Dieppe to Pontivy looks good. Imports anyone?

They're moving way too slowly to make it over I would say, and if they're surface-based, the channel will kill them in no time

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
