I am currently just northwest of Stoke. Maybe I should hang about for  bit. Or would you advise heading South?

Would go south a bit and play both options but dont know what the chase terrain is like up there

Wow what an awesome storm over Wrexham. Nearly an hour of constant thunder, lightning, hail, torrential rain and gusty winds. One of the best storms in ages!!! ‘‘Twas a beast

Well, I think it's safe to say that Liverpool and the surrounding areas has been very storm spoilt! If I recall they had two rounds of storms yesterday and they are currently having their second round of storms now!

Thanks mate. Chase terrain is ok up here, lots of fast roads in all directions. Could probably hit the convergence zone in half hour and then head back north faster than it is moving, providing it doesn't speed up.

Is this a new convective line developing further South from the SW Midlands to Central parts of Wales?

Hate to mention Xander but you're looking over the sea in the complete wrong direction for Southend.

Southend is on the other side of the pier not looking out to the wind farms over Neptunes Arm.

You can faintly see it in the distance there.

Better up-close below.

The great thing about Southend chasing is that Southend is always there and always in the same place.

Storms on the other hand...

Can confirm that Southend doesn't move from a local. Do get some nice storms coming from Southend once or not at all a year.

Is it me or is there is a slow northwards drift with the area from Leicester to Merseyside/North Wales?

CZ hopefully moving a bit further north, keeping my eye on developments east of Nottingham as there is some cells breaking out there now.

Just took the train to work. Belting it down at Coseley station near Dudley. Bone dry and blue skies here in central Birmingham. No thundery activity seen or heard. Wondering if the Black Country is going to be part of the breeding ground today.

Spot on today mate
