Considering there isn’t much of a risk here today I was surprised to see this to the east just now.

IF that thing stops back building eastwards and starts moving forwards properly again It'd end up being a direct hit for me now.

Yes it seemed to stall on radar lol

passed to my west about 10miles away I would think, very loud thunder coming from it although I can’t hear any now

Yes it is, sat in my garden listening to it @ Swadlincote listening to it, also just heard a very deep rumble from my southeast which must be the one just to the west of Leicester that appears to be on a direct hit for me

Unfortunately all seems to have gone quiet now. I say unfortunately as I am near Sudbury and was hoping to catch it. Still, early in the day yet and a good start to have storms already.

Just took the train to work. Belting it down at Coseley station near Dudley. Bone dry and blue skies here in central Birmingham. No thundery activity seen or heard. Wondering if the Black Country is going to be part of the breeding ground today.

Yes it has gone quiet. I can see the cauliflower top of the cell that I was hoping for a direct hit, but it would seem it’s going to miss to my east this time. I don’t think it’s electrified anyway.

Nothing overhead, but plenty of heavy showers / occasional thunder towards Bangor / eastern  Anglesey. It's extremely humid.

Why would nothing develop from that area? Best bet for continued development unless I misread your post.

Ps, happy birthday!

Just got to Ellesmere through some very dicey roads. Right under the storm now. What’s notable about this storm is that’s there are very few CG strikes. But it’s constantly rumbling right above and the rain is relentless. Might cut north towards Whitchurch now.

And yet again between Tamworth and burton it’s fired up. 15 mins on the radar went from blues to purples, rumbling away as I type

Very quick developments around here. Just heard thunder to the south. And again. Second consecutive thunder day. Very rare around here. Sounds over new Brighton way.

About 8 more rumbles since I started typing this. Getting really frequent now.

Heading away west of me now over the Mersey  wind farm. producing 3 strikes a minute. For awhile but now dying away as it heads out to sea.
