Can hear thunder now as well very distant. Strikes seem to be getting more frequent again.

It seems there is a lot of MLCAPE as WRF predicted as sunset has not changed much.

@Hirudine

I was excited to see those pictures because I thought there was a storm in Croydon and hence could reach it!  Then I saw your location...

Hah, I used to live in Bethnal Green, so a couple of years ago that might have been the case!

There's also a cell developing behind the one heading to you, between Crewe and Northwich, which has become electrically active in the last few minutes. Worth keeping an eye on.

Second storm just past here lasted a good half hour - 45 mins, not overhead this time but still a great lightning show and some moderate to heavy rain, 2 storms, 1 in daytime and 1 as it went dark, a very good storm day. Didn't expect to get quite this much, it was literally like a less severe version of May 2018 for the Midlands, almost the exact same track for the storms, just a little more vertical.

First image is today (now) and the second is May 27th 2018. Very similar but like i said, less severe.

Was just under that cell. Very short and sharp with only a couple of flashes not very exciting.

Hopefully the camera picked up some lightning from the Cheshire storms, just done a 20 minute timelapse of it passing to the SW so will have to go frame-by-frame to see if I caught anything although to the eye the in-cloud lightning flashes were visible.

The Cheshire storm is a beauty, could see lightning even heard faint distant thunder.

It was a cracking storm Kev the light show  was fantastic with some loud claps of thunder along with the hail and Torential rain still some flashes lighting on the front room will give that storm 8 out of 10
