All seems to be going to some sort of plan  also a couple of cells firing in N / NW England too. Would expect more to develop across the south Midlands through this evening...

Here’s hoping the line running from Bristol through Brighton ignites as it trundles north

For any of you in the Bedfordshire area looking toward east London / south east.

Sorry camera quality is **** but get some awesome views of cloud scapes!

You'd think the ones in the northwest would be spitting out lightning by now. Skies have actually cleared overhead here over the past hour. Although really good development way out  to my east/southeast.

I think the sferics near Burton/Derby might be real.

Popcorn showers into the eveing, probably primarily midlands and NW of that. Some isolated strikes/cells elsewhere. Kent and east London May get a few strays from the channel but these will be sporadically electrical. By midnight expecting activity to significantly die off leaving heavy rain.

I’ll probably stop the chase here. Good skies but unfortunately no thunder

That anvil from the Daventry/Rugby storm is now appearing over the rooftops. (I live on a hill). Looking good.

I have a nasty feeling that any storms that do form are going to pass either to the West or the East of me.

Indeed, a few strikes across C London.

Main trough I think is still due to come through so here’s hoping Ian

Edit - no idea where those London strikes are coming from - can’t see anything remotely storm looking

A lot of strikes on the radio now between 70–80 km. Very frequent, around 15/minute.
