So the cap is firmly in place at the moment. There’s a lot of cloud about and about 20° is required to get things going. Sounds like the north is better placed for some forcing from the hills but down south we want things to really kick off on the northern coasts of France and make the sea crossing. My money is somewhere in the middle of the south. At a random guess I would say Godalming high street, give or take a mile

yea nothing will happen here now despite a severe thunderstorm risk, too late in the day for surface heating

Hit 24.2°C here earlier so I might be in for a shot. Think I might guess Herne Bay, give or take a mile too.

Some beautiful looking Cirrus clouds to my north, they look like giant quills   (unfortunately my phone camera just turns them into a blurred mess )

Euro 4 yet again was onto that NE French development since last night, and hasn’t budged.

Best performing model by a mile. Who knows what could happen now.

Doesn’t look hugely impressive to the eye - it’s literally a mile over from me

It is starting to look interesting to my west now too - lots of towers starting to form. Mid levels however is still looking quite dry - no obvious signs of mid level instability.

Anybody know how Leeds and Manchester are looking tonight, not much on radar right now. Clouds have started to tower but are not dark.
