That’s a change from when I last looked at the radar with that suddenly appearing near Brighton. Seems that area has just about escaped being stuck under this persistent drizzle.

Interesting to note that my lightning app is picking up much more strikes than Blitzortung.

That’s unusual as when I look it’s usually the other way round.

Flash flooding being reported. As black as the Ace of spades to my North, might be worth a short drive.

Deep rumbling thunder, too bright in Brighton/Saltdean to ditect lightning.

Could well be the South Downs helping this Cell generate in Situ.

This is a beautiful, beautiful example of orographic lifting generating torrential rain & lightning. More impressive still, the EURO4 last night nailed this in a way I've not seen a model nail something before

Diddly squat today. Onto the next event!

Why!,was today suppose to be an event?

As i said last night, just a few sporadic lightning flashes and that's what we got, there may be a few more in the SW and near to southern coast's.

Few odd spots of rain here on Hastings seafront, currently filming this cloud here for a timelapse as it seems to be changing shape a little and rotating slightly. No lightning here though

Most threatening it’s looked all day to the NW

It's like mentioning supercell after looking at a thunderstorm on radar.

Hopefully. Problem is it is well out of a reliable timeframe. 9 days away, could be completely different by the time we get there. If it does come off like that, it would be an absolute perfect setup tor a plume across the U.K. with widespread thundery activity for much of the country!! Fingers crossed

Wasn't it supposed to rain?  Not a drop here in Death Valley, (a.k.a Reigate). Back to watering the plants.  Weekend looks like it could have some interest?

Could be something thundery for the south and east of the country as we go into late Saturday and throughout Sunday ?? this is the ECM for Sunday afternoon from windy.com

Or on a forecast

there’s nothing popping round these parts, no rain or noffing.

Skies look quite eerie tho
