You'll like this one.... Some kids were camping over in the Downton meadows last night. Packing up in the rain this morning, we watched them bag their rubbish up, then chuck it in the trees. I shouted

My poor attempt at taking photos of lightning with the phone!

Just missed out in frome again , but took a short a short stroll  to a good vantage point and caught  funnel cloud

Just heard a rumble to my south.  Appreciated but I'm not sure this is going to be a storm to remember.  😁

Anything from that French stuff? Or is it a case of once that hits it's game over?

Appears to be narrowing. Will see what it does when it makes land otherwise I too will be calling it another bust.

Definitely developing around here, several showers nearby heading off the Plain. Ears fully pinned back! Still 30.8c!

You can thank me for developing it’s early stage! Looks great to my NW but wish it was dark!

V loud thunder now, to my South from here; must be over east/central Bristol. And first lot of lightning. And as i'm sat at back of my garden v close to 3 trees i think i'll pop back inside, with pint of cider firmly grasped in my hand😜

And more lightning! Runs for cover!

Come on little cell, you can do it! Grow grow

Think that's going to pass just to the north between here & Bristol, all this oppressive heat & humidity & so far nothing to show for it except lots of sweat lol

It's tracking that way, can only hope it keeps on developing and expanding. If it does, we might be in business.

Pretty constant rumbles of thunder, albeit mainly quiet and not overhead.  A few flashes of C/C lightning too.  No rain though.

Better than nothing and quite calming sitting in the garden in just my shorts listening to it.

Just saw lightning from it from 30 odd miles away - looks like it's growing over the channel now, too

image.thumb.png.4f88658431cfbe8723e4d88e35619c9f.pngwill this rain be coming over my side of the south and west

Models suggest that it will fizzle out, but what do we know.

We're going to sleep out for the Perseids, but it looks hazy above atm.

Not sure whether we want clear skies, or lightning. No doubt, we'll get neither.

Likewise, I’m probably 40 miles away but getting a decent (albeit fairly faint) light show from the IC lightning!
