We were down at Sandbanks last weekend. Early doors, as it was a Saturday.

Parking's free on West Overcliff Drive (next to the bowling green), near Alum Chine; but I guess you need the car for the onward journey. Have fun.

    Thanks. That's good to know!

You'll like this one.... Some kids were camping over in the Downton meadows last night. Packing up in the rain this morning, we watched them bag their rubbish up, then chuck it in the trees. I shouted

My poor attempt at taking photos of lightning with the phone!

Just missed out in frome again , but took a short a short stroll  to a good vantage point and caught  funnel cloud

A high of 22.2°C at: 14:56... warm and sunny much of the day but some patchy cloud bubbled up this afternoon.

    Bournemouth doesn’t look too great.

Well we had 13 hours of sun here today - sunniest day since June 25th! Slightly different to that date though with a maximum of 22.2C after falling to 08.5C last night.

Temperatures dropping slowly it seems overnight through this week, last nights' low was 8.7°C at: 04:36, currently 16.1°C and the breeze has turned in to the East now, from the recent N trend. RH66% with it reaching 38% yesterday, I wonder how low it might reach today?

Apart from the lonely 2 seagulls the beach is deserted this morning...

Currently clear blue sky and temps 16C - 18C across the bay. Yesterday reached 22C - 24C+ depending on the exact location. Its very hilly here and location makes a big difference, it is great walking along a hillside and seeing the shimmer of heat rising up. There was quite a lot of cloud around inland yesterday and at times hardly any. Non of which troubled the bay as it melted away as it got close to the water. Thats what happens most of the time but occasionally its the opposite where we have cloud the doesn't melt until it gets a few miles out to sea. Last year on a trip to Dartmouth it was cloudy all day but just out at sea clear blue sky all day. Very frustrating.

Some pictures from yesterday. I noticed that people even have to wear face masks when set on the outside top deck of a ferry.

We're still doing OK here. OH is lounging around outside with her feet up, complaining she's too hot in the Sun.

Looks like the convergence from light winds passing through here, hitting the sea breeze. Seems to tie in with the Sat image.

Two stunning work mornings and another to come tomorrow, so thankful! Giggling at the slightly more unsettled tendency for Thursday and Friday which would have coincided perfectly with the original first two days of the school holidays!!

Cold waves hitting Europe continue to threaten growers, is there a link to climate change?

Much of Europe, not just the UK, has experienced unseasonably cold weather since the Easter Weekend. A plunge of cold arctic air brought by northerly winds early last week brought several nights of frost and even snow across large swathes of Europe, followed by another wave of cold arctic air spreads across much of Europe this week. The frosts causing damage to new growth in vineyards and orchardsa0spurred on by a late March heatwave, the vineyards of France werea0particularly badly affected.
