You'll like this one.... Some kids were camping over in the Downton meadows last night. Packing up in the rain this morning, we watched them bag their rubbish up, then chuck it in the trees. I shouted

My poor attempt at taking photos of lightning with the phone!

Just missed out in frome again , but took a short a short stroll  to a good vantage point and caught  funnel cloud

Looks like some sunnier skies with patchier cloud should make it here over the next hour or so as the cold front and the residual cloud clears the SE... forecast looks like we're set for a sunny day tomorrow.

Even though it’s much cloudier, it actually feels warmer than yesterday as there no breeze and it’s quite humid. 20.0°C

Beautiful if cool start with a minimum of 8.5C!

Still in a quandary as to which day to go the south coast - Wednesday or Thursday. I'm none the wise as to which day will be sunnier.

If it was me, I'd go Wednesday. Closer to the early week's decent weather, so more chance of it hanging around.

    Where are you off to?

Looking at the MO forecast (I know...) Wednesday certainly looks better.

That's what I'm thinking. I don't mind a bit of wind, but sun is highly preferable.

The Sandbanks area is the plan, then hop across to Swanage and on to Durdle Door. I haven't been to the latter two for years and sunny skies would just make photography all the better.

We were down at Sandbanks last weekend. Early doors, as it was a Saturday.

Parking's free on West Overcliff Drive (next to the bowling green), near Alum Chine; but I guess you need the car for the onward journey. Have fun.

Can't seem to get a day without cloud spoiling it. The forecasts in that respect have been very poor.

Despite the cloud, temp got to 23.8°C.

Cold waves hitting Europe continue to threaten growers, is there a link to climate change?

Much of Europe, not just the UK, has experienced unseasonably cold weather since the Easter Weekend. A plunge of cold arctic air brought by northerly winds early last week brought several nights of frost and even snow across large swathes of Europe, followed by another wave of cold arctic air spreads across much of Europe this week. The frosts causing damage to new growth in vineyards and orchardsa0spurred on by a late March heatwave, the vineyards of France werea0particularly badly affected.
