My daughter took this picture for me last night around 9:30pm  looking west towards westbury direction.

Wow another great view! That’s 3 taken from 3 different places! Just been to my parents house so my boy could see them and play in their garden ; Westbury had very little compared to Warminster.

My sense of direction isn't  very good lol.  It's a shame we couldn't get the last little bit of the sunset in which highlighted the lower clouds.

Cloud breaking rapidly here now with warm sunshine appearing.  Can feel the humidity rising too.

Latest UKV still consistent in keeping anything interesting away from here.

That “lovely” CS England storm shield already starting to take shape.

Yep, suspect another storm free day. At least the sun is trying to come out, might make for a lovely afternoon.  Even put the washing out, should dry pretty quick.

Still time yet, where cells do develop they are exponentially developing.  We do need some signs of life over CS England though.

Sun is becoming more and more prevalent here which can only be a good thing.

You have more faith than me. If storms do develop,  they seem to swerve Weston and go North or South.

They definitely don’t go north.  Bristol and surrounding areas are fully storm free.

Arome 6Z looks tasty for tomorrow after the messy band of rain has cleared NW.

Third day of seeing huge cumulonimbus clouds growing just 10 miles away over the South Downs and then moving away. I know your pain!

Same here. Everything just to the north and nothing to the SE where it would be coming from.

And another pleasant day outside, as the current temperature is just slightly off the day time maximum (so far) of 23.5°C

Issues with sea breeze convergence zones, they always form just inland and then slowly move north during the daytime, so our chances end early!

Tomorrow may be more promising for us coastal folks.

An isolated storm cell has been passing over the north of Exeter for the past hour, a number of close rumbles and bangs at around 2 to 2:30pm but has eased and pushed further north now.  I was out for a walk this lunchtime and saw the innocuous-looking cumulus clouds to the east sprout up into cumulonimbus between 1 and 2pm.  This makes it my second thunder-day of the year.  It looks like being dry here for the rest of the afternoon but there's also potential for more this evening and tomorrow.

Some rather interesting-looking plumes showing up on the GFS and ECMWF for about a week's time too!
