We were woken by a big crack of thunder. Then I saw a few flashes but it’s so infrequent plus there is so much rain & low level murk that it’s hard to enjoy!

It's a pretty good storm here. Seems to be intensifying as it reaches the Bristol Channel.

Another night of bogus spherics, though!

Frreqient, very bright flashes of c/c lightning here along with loud rumbles of thunder.  Nice little storm, certainly wasn't expecting it.

the thunderstorm between warminster and westbury is back to life

Tom, lightning maps isn’t picking up every strike but the closest is shown over Boreham Road.

Barely been asleep one hour then woken up by thunder and lightning. Slightly unexpected. Deep rolls of thunder.

Morning All, I was going say cooler , but my body lies to me, the overnight low being 18.2°C at: 07:06, and we have overcast conditions (no complaints) and some patchy light rain in the area....RH93 %, Humidex 23.6°C, with just a hint of a breeze in from the NE..

Smooth conditions for the paddle boarders, and the beach having been scarified is for the birds...

What an uneventful breakdown of the heat! Had some moderate-heavy rain rain yesterday afternoon and back to grey overcast dull conditions now

I don’t hold out hope for the coming days either to be honest. It’s so frustrating watching the same places get pummelled whilst the best we can do is watch some lightning that’s 40-50 miles away!!

Active cell incoming to Bristol

Looks like skirting through South Gloucs more than Bristol itself.

Looking at the radar, the Bristol area is right in line for a train of showery mess trailing back up the M4 towards London.

Hi Tom

manu thank for posting that . I was sat out the back cameras at the ready . Sat on chair with feet up then decided to get recliner . Put back in recliner as started raining but no storms . Felt so tired went to bed then woke to almighty cracks of thunder lightning was crazy outside . Stayed in bed fell straight back to sleep .

Glad o didn't miss much in terms of spectacle as shrouded in murk low level cloud . But was great to hear. Torrential downpours too.

looks like our areas Frome westbury warmister set to get more as in mind from the heavier developments over to east direction both of London .  Thanks for the screenshot Tom

Dull and cooler with showers so far this morning. Of course now the showers are reaching me when they’re just showers and nothing more like the last few days. 18.9°C

Warm and close night once again, even though temperatures dipped to 17.6ºC, humidity is still high.

Had some heavy rain for a time this morning, which has done the garden good! Not been watering to preserve water supplies over the past few days, so most welcome!

Currently 20.7°C with cloudy skies. Temperature is increasing in the past hour.

Lighter shade of grey atm, no rain since the little that came down overnight which contributed to the 10.8mm in the gauge this morning.  Definitely feeling cooler, but with static air, it continues to feel humid.
