32c high yesterday 2pm
Was still 24c at midnight and a low of 21.5c at 6am.

Clear blues skies yet again to start the day. Can even see the moon this morning.
29.8c now.
ESE very light wind, 1012..2 hPa

Seeing a lot of lightening symbols now appearing on the forecasts for the next few days with a rain probability of 7-40%.
Some rain would be welcome for the garden.

Calm air and several degrees warmer to start with than yesterday. Feels like a fine summer’s afternoon already. Makes me wonder how high today could go, if it stayed clear until at least 4 pm.

The high cloud is already forming down here and over the channel and the edge has been knocked off the temperatures after peaking at 31.6°C at: 11:43, it's dropped back to 31°C ..

Still clear here and I can report that the solar noon sun genuinely has a string to it. Impressive for nearly two months past summer solstice!

32*C and hardly any wind will tend to have that effect .

31.7c here, and no breeze!

I heard temps over 30c needed so storms can initiate! DONE.

Bang on 32°C here too and the wind has completely dropped. It feels borderline unbearable.

Dew point is beginning to rise again now, up to 19.6°C

I’m off to the SE thread for a few days! But when I got off my air conditioned train at Southampton to change, it felt like I was walking through a kitchen with every appliance on and no ventilation.

Temperatures are comfortably around 31-33°C across most of inland Hampshire, Dorset and Somerset now. The atmosphere is 'loaded' now for development, you can see the SE has already started with plenty of altocumulus development in the past hour.

The fuse is ready to be lit. My bets are on surface based convergence zones for storm development that are setting up this afternoon. Salisbury plain, Bristol/Bath area eastwards, Exeter/Honiton and possibly over the South Downs are my picks for our area.

Just been on site visit to Jennycliff by Mountbatten station. It's just so hot for Plymouth- no wind but cloud is building high up.

Edit- coming out at 29c in City Centre

Cells now appearing over Sussex and the North Downs, heading West/WNW. Can see the cell from here in Emsworth.

Wind’s picked up at long last - but it’s mainly easterly, so hot!

Speaking of easterly, over that way I can see a huge cell erupting over Basingstoke!

Shows up nicely on the satellite image, as do the storms in France..has to be said, I'm not convinced that the French storms are likely to do us coastal folks any favours...

In the car on our way down to Branksome Chine. Just approaching Bournemouth now!

Nobody tell Beka that she's missing a great view of the storms from Win.
