Every summer it is so frustrating, why don’t TV forecasts predict the highest temperatures along the south coast when a NE or E breeze, both BBC and ITV are useless.

I think you really need a local meteorologist that understands local variations in climate. I know ITV Meridian's Holly Green does a good job at understanding local hot spots and regularly suggests Gosport area and Southern Hampshire as hotspots during the summer months. I believe she is currently on maternity. Sadly, national forecasts simply can't provide that level of detail in forecasts!

Still sitting above 20 here too, its actually still 24.2°C!

I've got a feeling my maximum minimum temperature is under threat.

The Isle of Wight has long captured my imagination with its variable landscape. High enough in parts that it can even have snow when the lowland mainland has none! Or so I’ve seen reported over the years.

Just been to sit outside a bit - after carefully treading around dozens of slugs on the patio! Its still a bonkers 23*C having changed little in the past two hours. Comfortably warm with hardly a breeze to be felt. Full Mediterranean mode!

There's a bit of a breeze here but I can't remember feeling such a warm breeze at night before.

Can't believe how brown the grass has turned again. It made a recovery during June but has been browning again since mid July... come to think of it July was dry apart from one or two I believe wet days.

It never recovered in the first place here. It's been brown/yellow for several months now.

give it a watering during the morning, each day for about 2 weeks,  you will notice a difference, dont water it in the afternoon/evening as it encourages disease, but you can get lawn feed which is pretty good

Few spots of rain, few rumbles, looks worse on the radar than underneath it ATM

Had barely woken up with not much visible out the window but heard thunder, looked at the radar and saw the storm was to my south moving NW.

Heard a couple more but then when it was a bit closer, it was quite active on Blitzortung but interestingly you couldn't hear the thunder much anymore.

All has passed by here though with a load of Ac Cas and a decaying anvil overhead, but the sun kept shining throughout.

A lovely morning to sit out with a cup of tea... It's 23.5C, 3 degrees warmer than this time yesterday. Although now I see low cloud is very close to my north again.. maybe remnant cooler air from that will put a cap on temps here again, though mid level cloud in some format is more likely to today.

Down at Southbourne before 6am for a walk. Really nice temp, especially in the Sun walking back.

Now back for a Coffee, Danish and snooze in the Sunshine.

Nearing 25*C, feeling like 250 .

But seriously, it feels hotter than the air temp, despite a decent breeze from the NE. The relative humidity is in the high 60s!

Only a scattering of small clouds around.
