30.2c now DP 21c more in the way of blue skies now

Glorious Day here in Exmouth , not sure on the temperature but it feels hot in the sun despite the persistent breeze which is actually quite welcoming. Some small patches of high cloud but nothing significant.

Plenty of mainly hazy sun here now. Temp into the 30s, really unusual to see that on such a cloudy day here.

Seeing some larger breaks in the thin clouds too now. Progress is slow but steady.

Finally, blue sky turning up here. 29.2°C

Just took a better look at the satellite sequence on PC, more progress toward a cloud clearance apparent than I could see on my phone. It's been a complicated situation to unravel, with different cloud layers meshing together.

Most weather apps are forecasting not just cloudy but overcast conditions for the next few hours, being based on GFS which has been resolute on that for many days. Might see a fair few red faces among travellers later this afternoon! 

Given GFS predicts widespread highs very near or into the 30s°C for southern Hampshire & Dorset, it makes me wonder how high temps may climb if it's much sunnier than it modelled. ECM and ARPEGE are both in the 31-32°C ballpark and did foresee some breaks in the cloud. I'd not rule out a 33°C somewhere, though.

Been sunny all day, so far. 30c now, better day than yday, for sure. A few bubbles of cloud popping up.

Sunny here with just a small amount of high cloud and reading 28.2C on the Davis.

You can tell the airmass is slightly cooler at lower levels this far west, with some places further east in the low 30's despite more cloud.

Exeter airport was reading 26.7C at 2pm, yet the Isle of Portland was 28.9C, don't see the latter often!

Has been sunny here now since 1pm, reached a high of 33.9°C, making it the warmest day of the year so far,

Winds now beginning to swing round to the South, meaning the sea breeze is starting to cancel out that NE'ly.

Down to 29.6°C now, think 30.9°C will be our max unless the sun comes out soon and gives the temperature a boost.

I am happy for the coastal locations that have recorded higher though!

Just brushed 30C with a max of 30.1C. Beautiful day, although noticeable is the 'dog days of summer' hue to the sky and the sun not feeling that strong for the heat.

I'm kinda banking on at least Monday and Tuesday continuing sunny as haven't been able to fully enjoy it today.

Briefly reached 32.0°C here not long ago which beats the previous record set in late June.

Damn, looks like that swathe of high cloud has prevented a second day reaching 90 Fahrenheit here (32.2*C). Made it halfway there from 31 beforehand. 
 

Then again, it’s back up in the 31s now and yesterday Bournemouth Airport reported a rise of several Celsius between 5 & 6 pm. Albeit from a starting point seven degrees lower...
