Anyone else seeing a glowing thing behind the cloud looking to the North?

An alien spacecraft coming to warn us about the effects of climate change?!

Hmm - more thin but still disruptive cloud cover developing than I'd like to see. Looks to be some shallow high-based instability.

After climbing to the 25s°C, there hasn't been much change in the past hour.

It's going to be a long day of sky-watching. Due to the flow gradually veering toward ENE, it's conceivable that local temps could continue rising until near 6 pm today, if there's plenty of sunshine.

Morning All, after an overnight low of 17.1°C at: 05:37, things are warming up, as the beach shot shows the numbers are going up..currently 27.3°C and some high cloud which might help to ease things just slightly..

25.9°C with hazy sun. Not even going to look at the cloud forecasts today and will just play it by ear/eyes, although MetO gives us a maxima of 31°C at 5pm today...

Only reached a low of 19.7°C, which was only 0.4°C off my all time highest minimum temperature of 20.1°C.

Cloudier start today, however temperatures are higher than this time yesterday (probably from the already warm start)

Currently 29.2°C with hazy/cloudy skies. Winds from NNE... the direction where we always get our warmest temperatures!

Doesn't look likely it'll reach 30°C here now.

June 25th is still the warmest day of the year for me.

32.2°C here now with NNE winds continuing. Cloud is starting to break and temperatures steadily rising now.

Wouldn't be surprised if we pushed towards 34 or 35°C now.

And here comes the cloud once again..

A bit like yesterday. Travelling from Southampton this morning to Bournemouth it look so promising but although it is high cloud and not threatening anything, over the last hour or so it has really covered over with just the odd glimpse of sun.

See what the next week brings whilst we are down here. Oh and sod the beaches they are rammed. It is ridiculous around the pier at the moment..

We'll see - the motion to the band of altocumulus looks promising for bringing a clearance from the south within the next couple of hours.  Depends if anything else develops in-situ. If not, it'll just be some high cloud hazing the sun intermittently.

Wish I could feel lucky. 32,6°C, dew point 18.8°C. Making it feel like 34.1°C.

I like heat, but this humidity is testing!

Reminds me of holiday to Tenerife 3 years ago. It was cloudy for all but 1 day of our stay, but it'd still get to the high 20s and feel very muggy like this!

Wind is backing to a Northerly, so just beginning to push the cloud slightly southwards, as the solar measure edges slightly upwards...

image.thumb.png.98acee829ca87ecf7275e7543b9f8e11.png

Temperature easing slowly towards the 30C mark, currently 29.6°C , these are the interesting ones...RH58 %, Humidex 37.5°C
