Started brightening up quite nicely here in Christchurch, so I wouldn't give up on a nice day just yet.

it isn't even even midday yet so plenty of time,  just popped outside,  the sun is shining and it's already feeling quite nice, and I had almost the same weather you are describing only an hour ago!

Fingers crossed. I’ll give it until 1 to clear but looks unlikely.

Sun coming out in the far south now already up to 23C. Clearing quicker than forecast. @DaveL it looks like your station record of 31.8C is seriously under threat on Saturday - looks like a full day of northeasterly winds.

Well if it goes, I might not be here to see it, depends which day! To miss it (if it happens) would be, well, annoying lol.

is it even possible to get more than 2 days in a row with out any rain this summer? - as I look out the window the answer seems to be no!

Almost perfect blue skies here. The forecast showed cloud clearing around 4pm, but it cleared by 11:30am. Really warm and humid out there. 25.2°C.

At last - sunshine! And feeling steamy. Let’s hope it’s sun from the word go tomorrow.

An interesting day, overcast mizzle and rain, flat lined temperature overnight, then all hell broke loose as the graph shows, wall to wall blue skies after 3pm...

I could hope.

Also looks like pretty warm minima through into next week, apart from tonight, minima forecast to be 18-20C, sticky! Can't remember the last time we had a prolonged period of such high minima. On a good note, it means it'll probably be warm enough to sit in the garden past sunset.

Top marks for my WXSIM forecast. It was going for 26°C 4 days ago, while the MetOffice was juggling between 22 - 23°C.

It reached 25.9°C. Very nice indeed!

Gotta be looking at a new max temp record on Saturday? The set up can't get any better for here.

If the UKV is right and it gets anywhere near 33°C it'll smash the record which was only set back in late June.

Still need to beat my 34.4°C from 25/7/19... though I did get 33.6°C on 29/6/19 when we had that NE’ly (I think) inversion so similar situation this time.

Currently clear and 20.8°C

Didn't even make 30°C here.

Only made 28°C.

I'm not to sure, but I'll have to check; if it makes it above 32°C, that'll be the highest temp i've ever recorded here. Passing 2003.
