Beginning to wonder if we’re in the only places left that are still bone dry @Mapantz

Guessing within miles? I think I'm benefitting locally from the IOW as showers formed over Portsmouth/Hayling Island and moved over me.

A station in Bere Regis, just 6 miles from here, has had over an inch of rain, yet not a drop here.

Localised as you can get. I've had 10mm here, but seen places like Chichester which is also around 6 miles away has barely had any.

Unlikely. It's pivoting North of me, so I am expecting a dry day.

Send your dryness here please. Just plain old rain here - bored of it now.

Had been expecting another day of sunshine and showers and chances of thunder in Exeter, but to my disappointment when I woke up this morning the rain belt was a lot further south than forecast.  Not expecting any sun or any thunder today - just a dull wet day.

MO forecast here last night (ha ha) had showers with clearance later this afternoon. But now looks like we will see no sun.

I'm still hopeful of it brightening up. Check Sat24.com

I suppose this shows what can happen in summer. Large area of rain but strong sun above the cloud probably allied to localised orographic set up leading to convection within the rain. Currently under a downpour  for the second time within an hour, persistent moderate rain either side of them.

Six hours now of steady, gentle rain doing the garden a power of good.

A week of weather that I never want to endure again!

Brightening up now, temp up to 16.1°C.

I have also noticed that the MetOffice forecast has done a u-turn?! It was showing 25°C for Wednesday, now it's 18°C. And gone is the sunshine. I realise it shouldn't be taken literally, but a drop of 7°C is rather significant..

You’re right. Fingers crossed, it has stopped raining and there’s a little bit of brightness out there.

I'm not so sure now, as the low is due to swing back overnight. So at some point it'll stall and that will be the westernmost extent of any brightness, I guess.

Checking stations across town, looks like we’ve had 40mm+ so far and currently belting down still as I type... doesn’t look like any let up soon either judging by the radar. Can’t remember the last 40mm+ day we’ve had, let alone the 50mm+ it’ll probably be by the end of the day.
