Not many strikes being detected from cells across the region today.  Maybe more a “thunder only” cell but either way, something of interest IMBY at last!

I’m in Keynsham, Bath side of the city, so as long as it covers eastern fringes, I’m happy.

Just had about 10 large rumbles, no lightning to be seen and probably 10 large raindrops!! So close!!!!

Mostly blue skies overhead while everything passes to the north. Have been able to see it for most of the day but now more cloud appearing from the east which is obscuring the view. 17.4°C

A storm has arrived.  Plenty of thunder, haven’t visually seen any lightning yet.  Heavy rain and gusty winds too.

Same @Wiltshire_snow_lover I’m just down the road from you watching it scoot right round us. It happens sometimes when it snows too... I wonder if it’s to do with the hills?

Watch the next lot moving west from same area do the same again...

First visually seen strike.  Rain becoming torrential.

Just driven from bath through a monster storm, rain was biblical, never experienced anything like that before, must of been some micro bursts as there were some large branch down.

just got home and this is the storm looking north towards Bath

Frequent lightning and loud thunder claps.  Very heavy rain with surface flooding everywhere.  One of the better storms to have directly hit me in recent times.

There was about 5 mins of heavy rain in Bath, lots of thunder and about 5 or 6 flashes in the past few minutes.

Looks like there is some more to come later as well by the radar...

Missed out again, and going by tomorrow forecast,  could actually miss storms and rain altogether.

T&L on that Amesbury cell from here.

It's just clipped us here still rumbling around, a lot of lightning very little rain.

Might just get the southern edge of the storm,  before it dies out.

At least heard a couple of rumbles and a couple of spots of rain.

Storm over now here, although I do have my eye on that cell over Wiltshire for a possible round 2 before they naturally ease as darkness looms.

Very heavy rain was the main feature, roads temporarily turned into rivers.  Lightning became quite frequent eventually with frequent thunder, not particularly loud but long, grumpy rumbles.

First overhead storm I’ve had for 2 years.

I'm torn between watching the footie, or this. Settled for footie on the radio in the garden.

@Andy Bown and Tom, from here it looks like it's edging your way. The height is now towards the front as we're looking at it.

Oh the joy of living in Brizzle in the summer...(lightning pings)

We lack the beautiful beaches, quaint harbours, sea views and coastal walks that you have down there on the coast.  Nearby Swanage is one of the most beautiful and friendly places I enjoy going to in the UK.
