I hope tomorrow's UKV is wrong. It's a cloud fest all day after an area of rain moves in from the Southeast.

Was right in the purple bit of this cell at work earlier on, about 5 miles north of where I live.

This was it slowly approaching, rumbling away, before coming right overhead with constant thunder, torrential rain and hail, and gusty winds. We had over 30mm in less than 30 minutes. Really spectacular, and one of the most intense I have experienced.

Were you at Stourhead by any chance? I zoomed on the radar and tweeted Ian Fergusson that the Mere/Stourhead area must have got battered.

Got a sudden shower here now, seems to be a few cells kicking off just on the edge of Salisbury Plain so whether it might spark off we’ll see.

About the gist of it, yep.

I hate it when this particular type of set up occurs, it's simply no good for us down here. Thursday looks no better either.

Yup. We certainly did! Really great to be working outside in an area I could see it approaching and come over. Looking intense over Warminster now with that rapidly developing cell.

Wish I was at work.  Grab some chips from the Chippy at Dilton Marsh then onto Westbury to watch today’s action from the yard.

This is a screen grab from the Precipitation type radar . Does the orange denote hail as it ties in with when we had a minute with some stones? I am about half a mile from the orange part.

Looks as though it's got stuck over Warminster and Frome!  Still nothing here, no flash, no rumble, no drops.

Some interesting cloudscapes around 8 this evening to my west.

Well it's starting to get a bit desperate for us storm starved southerners isn't it!

Looks like there may be some opportunities in our neck of the wood in the coming days.

Also any thoughts on the slight south west movement on the cell near Salisbury? Maybe it's just back building,  but it seems to go against what all other storms are doing.

I usually upload to YouTube if they're anything over a few seconds long as they'll never upload on here

I'm not a fan of videos being uploaded to the site, as all it does is produce a link for others to download. You're better off using Onedrive/Google Photo's or something similar, so that you can embed them directly to here.

Well after all of the action from earlier I decided to get some altitude to watch them go to the North West

Sat in bed watching it. That SW edge is still gaining a bit of height, but I will lose interest shortly.

It’s rumbled a few minutes ago in the direction of where this afternoons storm went mad.
