Latest Aim for 24-07-2020....Clear night forecast...so worth keeping an eye on the European webcams fo sightings....the regressing mass makes it imposible to forecast using the AIM`s..... but i`ll settle for a clear night..and maybe a low level display

Latest AIM for 25-07-2020.

current_daisy25jul.thumb.png.117f0050dcc31718926e868596b362a6.png

.Bonus catch this morning which shows up well at the 2 'dayout' on this AIM

Rob "btw... what did you use to photograph them? what settings?"

28mm - 90mm 2" @ f 7.1 iso 200 -640  for the images

Keep an eye on the Eoro Cams for sign`s of a low display for Evening/ Morning chances

Latest AIM for 26-07-2020...Interesting to see on this AIM at the 1 'dayout' position...which having migrated around from the 2 'dayout' position....is still very much in position to tell the story of yesterdays early morning observations

Ive been thinking about the daisy charts... we do the 5 day cycle, and as the charts are released 2 days late we look towards 2 o'clock for tonights prediction...

But is this accurate?... there are now 24 hours in the day, what time are the images taken?

The best sighting i saw this year was the evening of June 21st.... so looking at June 19th daisy, we see clouds spilling out just over the 60* line at 1 o'clock , so perhaps 1 o'clock is more accurate then 2, due to the time in the day they are taken. ? ....

EDIT..... it also works for the display i saw on june 30th.... the daisy for june 30th taken on june 28th showed a strong showing just after 12, between 12 and 1 o'clock....

Latest AIM for  27-07-2020...Nowt really at the 3 dayout position to get excited about ....but there looks to be a clear night/morning ahead

27jul.thumb.png.c9de599fe921caa043f4615c540b8593.png

This was from Monday nights of the 1st half no show...and for Tuesday morning late 2nd half display...to tell the whole story we will have to wait until the individual orbit strip images are released by Nasa..which is normally 5 days after the full AIM image is released

these will be useful...because they show the time at which they were taken

@mushymanrob i`ll reply later with some thoughts

Last nights daisy.... im liking to look of those clouds around ten o'clock, if they hold/build they should be somewhere over us tonight...

Yes Rob...i think if this was June... i would feel confident to forecast a good display this evening/ morning

However..with a regressing mass and with a few more Sun spots showing up this week..we can only hope that this configuration has held in its 3 day migration

Mind you something woke up the Baltic radar this morning

on a personel note it would be a first for me... to capture an August NLC

Lets hope that there is enough gaps in the clouds this evening / morning

thought of you @Mr Frost and your future shot

Next Summer!  Hopefully I can sneak out the house without waking up my partner/toddler son next year!

I returned to work at the start of July (had been working from home since the end of March) so not really had a chance to stay up late!

June was great though - couple of fantastic viewings from hanging out the window between 12:00/01:00am.

Would like to say thank you to yourself, @mushymanrob @Paul Sherman (others of course) for all the predictions/forecasts! Great pictures posted in here this season from everyone and really enjoyed all the reports and posts in general!

Was planning on staying up into the early hours but the cloud/rain has arrived - standard stuff for most of the last four weeks up here!

Hopefully we all get to see another display this month.

All the best to you all.
