I’ve highlighted areas that could fire up soon, as per XCweather wind map.

Cotswolds, Home Counties and Devon currently seeing evident convergence zones. Any storms getting steered Eastwards, albeit at a very slow pace. Converging winds could occur elsewhere over the next few hours also. Keep a look out!

Yep. Can see towers going up to my west

It certainly has 'that look' today even if nothing happens here. Cumulus and acca all around. Good to be back to this time of the year.

I might socially distance myself from the man over the road in such a way that I relocate myself a few miles the south and east of my current position

Not surprised, I posted 2hrs ago that I could see a convergence occurring right overhead. Here is triggered some cumulus development but nothing popped. That Convergence zone has shifted a little north-east and triggered the cell near Godalming and now Cranleigh.

Just like yesterday things are now starting to brew up. :oldgood:

The only difference being these are going up to my south instead of the west.

Uh oh. These cumulus clouds don't look like they want to produce anything anymore.

Just had a few big spots of rain from that earlier developing cloud that’s still overhead and getting bigger, along with the washing line lol

There’s a possibility over the central counties still to play for over the next 4 hours slowly decaying as the evening wears on, but looks like there was a stubborn cap in place. Does mean we’ve built up quite a lot of energy beneath it, feels very warm and close. Wonderful afternoon weather ☀️ ☀️ ☀️

At least if it doesn’t go pop tonight the cap will keep the energy in place for some fun tomorrow ??
