I have just looked in on the Folkestone Harbour webcam in the hope of seeing something. That has got to be one of the most abysmal cams I have ever had the dissatisfaction of visiting.

Delightful views of a giant doll's house, bouncing harbour walls, and close ups of lights. What on earth do they think people want to see? What type of bulbs they use in their harbour lights?

Looking on the radar I'm guessing it will be only rain (much needed) by the time it reaches me.    The electricity is draining out of the system, so far as I can see.

Lightning had a rest and is now back up and running!

The cell looks like it's not going to make landfall at this rate, another Kent clipper I think

I'm kind of getting June 2019 vibes from this... No way it'll happen like that tonight though, surely?? That was something truly exceptional.

That was what you call a proper MCS, a great big bowl shape about it. The only scrutiny about that event, is that is was the perfect miss. Had it have carried on due N, all of the SE quadrant would have been slammed. I drove to see it as it moved up the N Sea along the Norfolk coast. It was extraordinary.

Remember actually on that day, someone pointed out that the MCS we are on about had cloud heights and temperatures as high as storms in Central Africa. Astonishing!

So then so far I have been seeing plenty of Lightning to my SE, E, SSW and SW along with many channel boomers being heard! I have been watching the 2 areas though that gap has been on track for my part of the island. However new showers developing in that gap, which I got a feeling could pop out some!

My view through the Eastbourne webcam must have been taken last year. It's raining, but not one flash of lightning. Nothing in the Folkstone Jackanory Cam either....

The 'merge' is now taking place, guess we'll find out shortly whether that's a good thing or not...

First chase of the year.....and breaking multiple laws.

Just rod down to the cliff tops on bmouth beach, few drinks in,  no lights and a small flask of red wine which I'm gonna sit and enjoy....past my allowed rest time

Distant flashes and low rumbles, and the odd police car.

Happy storm season everyone

The storms seem to be good at avoiding webcams lol.

Just a bit. I've just been out in the garden looking south. Normally, activity in the Channel is visible as high sky flashes. I am seeing nothing at all. Absolutely nowt.

The phrase "it's a bust" is rapidly forming in my mind.....

I can just imagine the conversation one of the officers would have when stopping you

Officer: "Hey man. What ya up to?"

Dave: "Hey officer nothing much, just thunderstorm chasing"

Officer: "Thunderstorm chasing? What are thunderstorms? We don't get thunderstorms here in the UK...?"

All parts of the cells have developed when they reached land in the UK,  could be a sign for more of that everywhere  ^-^
