I will take claps of thunder. In fact, rain will suffice

I'll clap if we have some substantial rain.  We need the balance. Record breaking spring, the weather keeps on surprising, just love it.

Agreed! 21 days ago was our last significant rainfall here in Stoke, a lot longer for some of you Southerners! What a Spring..

29 days here in Herne Bay, desperately need it!

According to my app we might get some rain a week today it’s been ridiculously dry - the most rain we’ve had was the ‘storm’ end of last week when there were some spots on the windows after the cold front went through. Not good!

Fingers crossed that these showers actually form to give the much needed rain a lot of us need!

Threat of thunder across England and Wales too for Wednesday. Chart and radar watching until then, we'll see what transpires.

Wow, that would be heaven if that came off. However that will change next day or so may even fail as we seen back a week or 2 ago. Storms materialised in south west rather than the east that early morning.

Other than a few spots, I haven't recorded proper rain for well over a month. The grass is all crispy and yellow and the ground us cracking and it's only May!

It will be the usual this week:

Expectations of a MCS moving up from France leading to promises of chasing.

Slight dampening of expectations by Tuesday night from latest runs.

A few small cells will form around the Bedfordshire area before moving East over East Anglia into the North Sea.

We all moan about being members of the no storms club & look forward to the next event in July!

This will only happen if we believe that it won’t

Woohoo, June is here!

Hopefully the second half of June delivers the goods that we desperately need.

Rain? Did someone mention rain? What's that?

Down here in "Death Valley", Reigate, we have not had substantial rain since mid March.  Apart from 1.5 days of rain three weeks back, and a few showers, it had been largely wall-to-wall sunshine.

Our garden lives on our sprinkler. I thought I saw some tumbleweed blowing around and a giraffe grazing the eucalyptus.  The eucalyptus tree, of course,  loves this, being an Oz implant.  I cut the lawns, and all I got was a cloud of dust.

I've got to the point I'd welcome a week of rain, drizzle and (of course) major thunderstorms. Anything to get some moisture into the ground.  I hope mid week might bring us some action.  Then again, I'm not holding my breath because I seem to live in a Reigate-sized High Pressure area.

@StormLoser

I'm not confident on anything wet next week to be honest.  I never thought the idea of persistent frontal rain would appeal to me as much as thunderstorms - but I think we're getting neither!  I guess we'll all need to be quick off the mark and make the most of our convective opportunities come July, August, Sept
