Do we believe there's any chance tomorrow?

Could be some thundery showers scattered about with a small amount of CAPE and instability and a trough moving from NW - SE D8EA0737-B14F-4F9F-B53C-92E4C4D0ADB5.thumb.gif.b10f84c54285f0093f31782b2f326719.gifD8494B3E-90FA-431F-A0A3-8F8892DF6D9E.thumb.gif.33257ccaafa714644a4c605605f92bb9.gif84DED65E-72C5-49CA-8FBB-139BA21867F1.thumb.png.f4cf703c8b7ade7556b2194f125d3145.png775309BD-7822-42E9-8C25-FCC1AEBD9DCA.thumb.png.b4c9ccdb6ed4cc1730b11d598d4fe7b2.png

RE tomorrow. Just looks like a few passing showers to me. Might be one or two lightning strikes around through the day, but nothing worth getting remotely excited about

Just had a scan of the models and the chance of a plume next week would be zero given the set-up. Although that can of course change, especially in the longer-term. But for now it looks like high pressure for the start of the week, then a more Atlantic flow taking over - not what you want to see when looking for potential plumes.

So the P words being mentioned in the MOD thread. Too far out to get excited about of course as it’s just a possibility at this stage and will likely change but still.

Plume of course. But it's way too early to get you hopes up as it's at least a week away and one of several possible options.

2 - 3 fine days and a thunderstorm - perfect for me! Low or high pressure relentlessly isn’t great.

A few posts chatting about weather preferences have been moved to the Spring 2020 Moans, Ramps and Chat thread.

Please keep this thread focussed on storm discussions.

Many thanks.

today's storm forecast

a few showers around and possibly some spaeodic development but low cape means don't expect much lightning but there is probably going to be at least a few lightning strikes per storms

They’ve been moving the enhanced zone about all over the place but it seems to sit here now. Please note: if there’s nothing electrical by 3pm, it’s all over.

Marginal risk of thunder, but there will probably be some hefty showers about.

Well I think we can all admit...we have been scraping the bottom of the bins this month with regards to anything convective/electrical.

Just looking through previous months of May lightning strikes/activity - 2015 to 2019.

Pretty decent up until 2018...last year and this year not so great - wee mention for Wales though seeing some lovely stuff over the past few days!

Hopefully June, July and August deliver the cheeky plume goods and that big supercell that so many crave! (Although it seems we have had quite a few this May from reading through this thread! )

All the best everyone and fingers crossed for a great Summer season of storms across the UK and Ireland.
