I have to agree, we live what 25 miles from Yarmouth and nowt to see here, I can’t imagine unless you live on a very tall hill and have great binoculars you can see over here from Bedford, it’s a blimey long way away. We got a few light clouds but nothing to note since early morning which didn’t lead to anything.

I live on a very tall hill so distant storms come in handy with me all the time. I have seen night-time thunderstorms even further away before.

Well this has been a rather depressing day for the storm lovers out there! My family are thoroughly enjoying the warm weather and definitely do not want storms, unlike me.

Up in st Ives now and some lively looking clouds building way out to the east, is somewhere in for a treat after all...

Not a cloud in the sky here, can't see anything bubbling in the distance anywhere either, but it is very humid as well as hot here. Phew.

If I look out the window upstairs I can see the top of one very tall cloud to the north/north west but apart from that - sunshine! I’m keeping an eye on northern France as temps there widely high twenties..

Hopefully we'll all learn from this experience and not get too over-excited the next time models show outbreaks 3 days ahead...

...not likely though

I hope you are joking, and I hope you are wrong as there is no way I'm waiting 2 months for the next storm chance

tomorrow morning looks to be a wet ride for some. Ireland and the west the best for this wet spell.

Book me a ticket to Ireland quick!

edit: actually loving this hot weather, happy for this type of thing for the next interlude before the next b̶u̶s̶t̶ ooops I mean realistic storm scenario.

That storm in Thassos looks fantastic from this atmo-chamber 1km above Haslemere... ☺️

06z AROME and ARPEGE look decent for breaking (AROME the best) out rain across the far SE tonight...only just noticed this, but note it is 06z and not many other models sharing this view.

Sort of gives the lie to the "cold" English Channel killing early season imports, when the much colder North Sea doesn't inhibit initiation! (And yes I'm aware of the difference between surface-based and mid-level).

It’d be good if this rain approaching from the west could give us an unexpected surprise. The models haven’t exactly been totally reliable recently so who knows

12z AROME and ARPEGE an improvement to my reckoning...may well set a 01:30 alarm after all.
