Lots of convective looking cumulus all around from where I am. Some looking like they want to turn into something bigger. One can only hope

Looking at satellite imagery, the clouds near me (East Walea) look pretty beefy! But no echoes yet, is there usually a long delay? ?‍♂️

Lots of vertical cumulus rising now, and it feels very warm if not, hot!

Cap looks on the verge of giving way somewhere round here soon.

Just mowing the garden and i am dripping wet through, could do with a heavy downpour and i will dance in it lol but i don't think owt will happen here

i reckon around where i have circled is my best bet for some heavy showers to kick off soon.

also showers breaking out in NE England too.

Problem is Lack of Da Trigger

Storms in NE England probably been triggered by the Higher ground to the West and Sea Breeze under Aniticyclonic flow

Some more showers starting to pop up now in CS England, with some more potent downpours in Wales as @ancientsolar mentioned above.

Shocked there aren't any sferics from the downpour in Powys! Must be a pretty strong cap in place?

I think the issue is that even the strongest convective showers can’t easily attain the height required for deep convection to occur. The best bet is you get a fairly weak and shallow updraft/downdraft in place, but not enough for decent separation of charges.

lightning is still possible but I wouldn’t be surprised if the total number from today is only in single figures
