Electrical activity seems to have died on radar? Still keeping an eye out for possible signs of rotation from this sucker.

Time lapsed the squall line as it passed through Hayward’s Heath. Slight splitting of the cell was observed with a small inflow area seen on radar and some very weak rotation on the left hand side. Lots of lightning loud thunder and hail.

I concur. Its very weak, but there is definitely some rotation there.

Brighton's still active

Looks dead on lightningmaps and blitz. No new activity for a while.

Yes on a scale of 10 it was probably 0.5

No supercells over Sandown an hour or so ago on radar, just a thin but potent line of standard, albeit potent cells

Yeah, just the shape of it looked kinda mothershipish. Fantastic looking scenes all the same. I love a good beach storm. Saw a brilliant one down in dover in the early 00's I'll never forget. Fork lighting, LOUD thunder, the lot.

Yep, by the seaside is the best place to be for a storm! Especially those plume MCSs, like in my profile picture, which was taken off the coast of Hampshire.

A nice storm has just fired in the Gatwick area, I think that's the second one they've had there today. My area would now seem to be out of the game for any convective action, as pressure slowly increases through the afternoon from the west

Woo hoo! Small storm passing Reigate here. Saw two streaks of lightning and heard plenty of thunder (but not a powerful storm, quite weak).

Excellent.

Initially going by yesterdays forecast it seemed like there was only going to be a few isolated showers today, however looking at the radar its full of them!

Is it because of the increased sunshine we've had today, thus warm air rising creating more showers?

Same. Yeah, my friend in Edenbridge is about to receive his second storm of the day (the one coming from Gatwick). He is kind enough to send me videos and photos of it though (already sent me the ones from his storm earlier a few minutes after it passed). I'm still waiting for my first storm of the year. I think that's my chance for today as well, pressure seems to be increasing and the radar is looking less and less busy around here now.

It has been an interesting day weather wise, especially as I didn't think we had any chance of anything thundery.

Not Sure if we are in line for anything else, but will keep an eye on the sky!

This is what passed by earlier, nothing was heard from this one though
