a spanish plume on Tuesday to Wednesday

Cant see that myself, no plume of Theta air makes it further north than Central France - Cape is almost at zero (MU & SFC)

In fact I will apologise now to everyone, this is the first May I will be in the Uk since 2004 and I know you guys have had some humdingers over the past Mays, but going on the latest GFS alone it looks devoid of any sort of Plume outbreak for the Entire run upto the 15th May and Cape gets to 200jkg on 1 day at the end of the run.

Sorry again

Yeah, 2 days ago the GFS (or Goofus as you called it earlier in the week Paul ) had a cracking plume coming in on Tuesday night, but it's caught up with the other models now, and even if the LP does make inroads to the South of the country, it's looking like giving some frontal rain at the most.

There's always hope for some good imported storms at some point in May, I'm not getting too despondent at the models just yet, as I'd rather not see plumes on them 7+ days out when they rarely materialise in reality!

Just had a massive hail storm from these cells here. So much there was an accumulation of a cm on the ground! The hail was about 0.5-0.75cm in size.

Just had a torrential hail shower here in Leicester. Lasted for around 5-10 minutes. Really surprised there was no thunder or lightning embedded with it but it was certainly a ground soaker.

Mmmmm clouds are coming in from a WNW direction *rubs hands together evily* gooood gooood.  Normally we can get some nice bulky storm showers when they are heading in from the NW/Cheshire Gap (the 1 or 2 sparingly good thunderstorms we get during the year also normally originate from this direction too).

Already had a couple of ridiculously dark and heavy looking clouds go over, heading towards Derby way.
