Looks like some fairly robust convection going up towards the West London/Heathrow area now.

Edit, Having gone to the second floor i can see that the convention isn't actually that deep at the moment. The Cloud bases are very high.

Sun trying to break through here... Still grey and not that warm ... I’m starting to think that this could be a bust for me.
... But there’s still time...

Same here, I'm about 57 miles from you. Started the day clear with altocumulus, crud set in from the north mid morning.  Now low cumulus forming under it from north to east direction.  Have my radio tuned into a station about 540khz, so hoping to pick up any sferics as the day goes on.  The sun trying its best where crud levels are thin. Fingers crossed and good luck to all.

Plenty of acca and now cumulus, would be surprised if it didnt go bang somewhere.... as I say that, are there 2 storms brewing to the west of London? Sat 24 looks like maybe.

There’s definately a cap here holding the cloud tops down.

They bubble up nicely enough but never quite reach that accelerated stage before just flattening out

Can see this from Macclesfield as bubbly Cumulus cloud moving away. Nice crisp tops.

Wow, can see the clouds shooting up from N London looking towards Essex. They look huge already.

I did chuckle at that, thanks

Maybe they got the elevation wrong for the northern UK? Lol

I’ll try and keep hope alive, but I have a strong feeling anywhere south of the M4 is going to remain dry and generally sunny

Well now I’ve got cumulus building up rapidly to my west/southwest
