Surely you don't actually believe this?

It's really sad how climate alarmists like yourself are trying to ruin objective reality which corresponds to data that clearly shows how strong impact the sunshine duration gets with better air quality.

36.0C at Heathrow on latest reading, not sure if that's going to be the final reading for 2pm as I think it is was revised up further at 1pm

Confirmed as 36.3 at Heathrow, with Northolt close behind at 35.9

Fresher air has pushed in now to Portsmouth, despite still clear blue skies

Interesting parallels to July 1947, well before talk of AGW. A poor month with a few exceptional days of heat at the end. The record for the highest CET daily mean was broken and still holds to this day (joint with 25th July 2019).

I think you mean July 1948

Looks like storm lovers may get something interesting later on. With the cold front still over N Ireland and the Irish Sea there's plenty of time to build up more heat further east. Showers have already broken out in SW England and another area of storms is appearing over France too and this looks like it could have the SE's name on it

Seems  England can get into the mid 30s most summers now. The days of needing a number of days of hot weather first along with bone dry ground are no longer needed  for those temperatures it seems.

Not really I find BBC weather to be more accurate. It's the same service used by the iPhone weather app which is okay as a guide but it's not great at forecasting.

I'm not an alarmist but where is the evidence that the Earth is getting cooler?

Surely if this was all down to air quality, the summer temperatures would have been higher in the early 19th century before the industrial revolution and cars, which we know is not the case.

I find WeatherOnline and the Met Office the most accurate. BBC and weather.com are pretty poor, and (in)Accuweather is bottom of the barrel.

Looks like we've peaked around 36c at Heathrow:

Some surprisingly extreme Spring and Summer heat at times in England during the 1700s, especially during the 1770s. There was also a warm period during the 1730s. The Summers of 1826 and 1846 are still some of the hottest recorded for England.

Before anyone jumps on me I'm not saying this is proof or evidence of anything; other than the effects of volcanic eruptions I know next to nothing about how air quality effects temperatures.

Anyway, this is probably a discussion for a different thread.

That's exactly my thoughts.  It's like we get exceptional heat with the click of the finger these days, whereas in years past, it took time to build.  Very likely a result of climate change and not good IMO.

Indeed it usually took prolonged heatwaves to achieve those kind of temps in England . Common theme over many recent summers seems to be these short lived intense bursts of heat which can challenge heat records in England or beat them. Strange.  Very strange imo. Points to one thing only in my mind ,climate change.
