3 straight days of 37’C forecast. Don’t think we’ve ever seen that before!

EACD10F1-F6A8-42A1-A147-96269A250A31.jpeg

Looking at the latest data, the storm risk in the SE corner where the hottest air is seems diminished for the first half of the week. Now it just looks hot and sunny here until Wednesday!

I guess it can only go out one of two ways - with a whimper or with a bang. Hopefully the latter

Could well be threatening records if the storms do stay away from the South East but there is always the risk of residual cloud and ‘gunk’.

Beautiful part of the world , was there 2 weeks ago staying in brixham at hillhead with parents,

Indeed. Stayed in Paignton in late August 2017 and had cracking weather all week.

Much fresher here this morning with a stiff NE wind. Currently cloudy with sunny periods.

Its not completely filling in on satellite so sun should be back within the hour.

Yep. Sun's back now.

Doesn't make too much of a difference to me today as I'm building a new gaming PC, so I'm sat on the floor with a million screws everywhere.

Having already broken my temp record, I'm quite content!

If you look though its not actually 37 forecast. They've always overestimated the tempreature especially these last few days

Temperatures starting to motor around me in Portsmouth, most local stations now 29 or 30C.

I see Heathrow is sneaking up on the leaderboard, no doubt it will pip everyone else for the top spot by 5pm

ARPEGE has been on the spot so far and currently has 36/37C for each day Monday to Wednesday.

Only 26°C here at the moment but I’ll be interested to see what happens if and when the cloud breaks up.

27c and sunny here in London. Starting to hot up now after a pleasant morning. BBC forecast has now changed from 34c to 32c, which probably seems reasonable considering the current temperature.

It’s clearly not spot on with today

What’s wrong with that forecast?

It’s not even 1pm and that chart is for 8pm.

37’C is possible over the next few days if the cloud and showers/thunderstorms stay away. It’s mid level cloud that suppressed temperatures somewhat yesterday and yet we still hit the mid thirties!

Exactly - we almost hit 35c yesterday, which was about right. It was only stubborn cloud cover that prevented a higher temp.

Patience I reckon! Might be a slow burner today.

I agree it's got some local variations wrong but the bigger picture has been right over the last few days.

after a cracking weekend down in chichester in the sunshine and heat, we have now arrived back in sth Lincs and its freezing, a very fresh feeling 18c, strong breeze and cloudy skies, looking to the week ahead, met office say fairly warm but dry week, bbc warm and stormy week, will have to go with the Met office i think, they have todays weather spot on so far.

What’s your reasoning for today then? Been nothing but sunshine in London yet temps have not risen rapidly it’s flattened off here 28.3C. 1pm temps:

More of a north east surface flow, turning easterly later and probably resulting in late maximum temperatures. Flow then more of a South easterly from tomorrow.

Edit: Now 30’C at Heathrow.

More sun and less wind here today, yesterday reached 28.7c, so i believe the very low 30's here is possible.

Yep just the surface flow. It’ll be a slow burner day. Still think we will see 33c plus by 5pm.
