Well Hurn's climbed to 30C under mostly cloudy skies, now the sun is out it is hot, still could sneak a 32-33C here. Also got a DP of nearly 21C.

Heathrow is now at 30c. With the cloud breaking up and a sunny rest of the afternoon I reckon we’ll prob peak at 32c or 33c in London.

You lot are welcome to it. A nice cool 23°C here.

No real heatwave here. Just pleasantly warm and sunny.  ☀️ Currently 23°C with 57% humidity according to my phone with a nice gentle breeze. Similar temp to yesterday but with less humidity and a lot more sunshine.

A little wispy cloud starting to appear now but by no means spoiling things. I much prefer this to 30°C heat. The south east can keep it.

Perfect weather IMO. How anyone enjoys mid 30’s and low 20’s at night in this country baffles me. But each to their own

I love the heat but I must admit in this country beyond a few days it can become unbearable indoors. Our homes are not built for mid 30s heat.

Just ticked up to 26 °C here in Bewdley. Not horribly humid so it's quite nice outdoors in shorts and T-shirt. A bit on the hot side inside though. And yes, I'm in the "Heathrow is welcome to the 32 °C+" club too!

For me it’s more of an experience thing. I like the feel of it all, even though that means the house is insanely hot. I’d much rather 2018 style heat of course (mid-high 20s) with nights cooling to the low teens.

24°C here with a dewpoint of 20°C.  Amazing how high the dewpoints have been here recently (three days in a row with 20°C+).  I think if the temperature was any higher it would be quite unpleasant indeed!

High teens up here in the NE with plenty of sunshine. It feels a lot fresher today in the shade than yesterday with the breeze coming in from the north east.

Yes that is true. A nice 23°C in the bedrooom here with 60% humidity and window open, feels nice. About the same temp/humidity outside too.

No problems sleeping either. I was very comfortable last night.

Its been sunny here in Torquay all day and a few stations are reporting 30C. Even in Brixham its around 30C. Very unusual for south west coastal resorts.

A lot of private stations in Sussex currently at 36/37/38C - they won't all be wrong - I think 35C must have been reached for real by now but no reporting stations for the Met Office.

Wasn't 42C reached by some private stations back in 2006?

31.2°C Woohoo! New record, finally.

Wind still from the Northern quadrant and it has dropped too.

Indeed. Average summer day time maximum temperature for London is almost 24’C. The South East gets a lot of warm and dry weather generally.

But, it wasn’t as warm as that for quite a number of days during July. That’s my point lol.

Are you thinking a 32 might be possible?

Yeah, it usually starts to feel uncomfortable from 29c onwards, and that seems to be the temperature when the flat goes from being comfortable, to becoming a furnace.

Hence why 24c is an average?

I think that might be a tall order. Sunshine is becoming limited again now.

Next stop - Thunderstorms! Need my 3 year drought to end.
