Tornado threat 18th March onward

Recommended Posts

If my chase trip was still on, I'd have been in despair at what the medium range prospects are looking like. Would have been a poor season all round.

I think you are making this up.

there are no tornado warnings at present, you can see where they are when they are released here...

In a tornado warning? Use our tornado tracker map to see if a tornado might be headed your way.

there is a 10% chance of tornado in Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas, Kansas itself has a virtully nil chance today.

If there was a 20-30% chance we would be looking at a tornado outbreak and a SPC High Risk, especially with an EF2+ tornado risk.

Thanks for the link Matty

SPC shows a 5% tornado risk for today though this might be upgraded to a 10% later.

lol chasing in the Deep South would be a nightmare! Storm modes and terrain in the Deep South in March/April are awful.

No chance of an Upgrade already been downgraded

These are pants risks when you have a crashing boundary surging south - The one at the start of May and in week 2 both busted and with absolutely zero upper winds theres no reason why this one wont as well.

And after today a small risk in Illinois and thats yer lot until June

Very Poor Season and Covid has probably saved us this year - Tour 1 and 2 would be Tornado less this year for the first time since 2005

Several tornado warnings including confirmed tornadoes across IL this evening, with the 10% Enhanced Risk up there. Also not sure if it's real or not, but have seen reports on Twitter from the supercell near Burkburnett, TX last night that there was around an 8 inch hail stone that came through someones roof? Have seen the picture and the hole it left, not sure if 8 inches is possible, but there were certainly some 5"+ hail reports last night in that area. Grapefruits? Bigger?

Mike.

The screenshots I posted above were taken from live footage .....the truck had been driven into a double ended tin-roofed lean to and the noise from the hail was incredible, certainly tennis ball size bouncing around.

A busy day yesterday at both ends of the USA...

A classic season of one day here and there where things seem to be busy and then the break for a while..
