Saw an incredible storm earlier on a webcam in Holland, MI, which looked like a derecho! Clipped Chicago, went out over Lake Michigan and then slammed Holland coming back ashore with a very impressive shelf structure, followed by severe straight line winds, Hail and lots of lightning.

Detroit cams if there’s any could be useful soon!

Nice 5% tornado risk in far North Western North Dakota tonight, with 15% hatch hail risk. Wonder if you'll get a tornadic supercell straddling the International Border like the Estevan day in 2018???

They sure get much more exciting weather than us in the States. Tornados, snow, hurricanes, heatwaves, big thunderstorms, mega snowfalls. You name it, it’s happening. Everything is bigger in America. Where as we are lucky if we get settled snow for more than 12 hours and see the sun more often than twice a week lol. No wonder everyone is so depressed and miserable in this country.

I saw this as well! I couldn't believe it. You can even see the ground scouring as the tornado moves away so it must have been pretty significant. Reed Timmer said that this is the best footage he has ever seen and bear in mind he has filmed intercepts of tornadoes multiple times! The suction vorticies also look very intense in there, and apparently this tornado caused at least EF3 damage.

Yesterday the tornado in Dalton  Minnesota was rated an EF4 with winds of 170mph, making it the 6th violent tornado of the year! This year's U.S. Violent tornado count is now higher than 2017, 2018 and 2019's U.S. violent tornado count combined!

This was some of the tornado damage:

In this image there is significant ground scouring

And here is the track map:

Al in all quite a violent and unexpected event really! Especially after such a quiet spell!

Of course you never want to see the Tornadoes causing damage and you can't accurately judge just looking at the Tornadoes but that could easily have been toward EF3 strength IMO but guess we will never truly know
