Paracetamol is like gold dust at the moment. I have ibuprofen to hand. Paracetamol is also brutal on the liver.

stick to the recommended amount (no more than 4g/day) and paracetamol is perfectly safe for the liver, still worried take it with acetylcysteine (fluimicil)

It would appear the 171 new cases released in the update were Scotland ONLY. Someone's published it a bit early by the looks of it. Expect a sharp rise once all the data is added later.

Scottish test numbers issued at 2pm today

A total of 4,895 Scottish tests have concluded. Of these:

  • 4,724 tests were confirmed negative
  • 171 tests were positive

EU says no non-essential travel allowed to the EU for 30 days, from today. Just announced on Sky News.

Before anyone asks, i do not know how they are defining "non-essential travel".

Damn what a goof to make, this does nothing to help the confidence in these guys!!!

We also know death toll is at least 37 based on the death in Wales and Southampton.

Should solve the dilemma of those arguing about travel and allow for refunds and insurance to kick in.

I'll probably take both if I can actually get hold of some paracetamol but we shall see.

I've got some zinc lozenges now so i'm basically immune anyway.

They would freeze mortgage payments and therefore it would be expected (if not enforced) that rents would be halted temporarily as a direct result.

That’s my take on it anyway ?‍♂️

My daughter at uni has been advised by a friend, estate agent, to ask for a month off rent if the pub she works at closes, he said don't be afraid to ask, it is expected because of the situation.

The only problem with those figures is the vast majority of people who feel unwell are being told to self-isolate, whilst not being tested. In

fact they are only testing people in hospital. so the figures mean nothing, apart from the poor unfortunates that have succumbed to the virus.

Yes, why are we releasing hospital figures? What's the point? It kind of made sense when they were testing patients in the community, but now it's sort of pointless IMO.

Another thing that worries me, is if I get the sniffles, I should self isolate. Fine. For someone like me though who always has the sniffles due to allergies and all-sorts of nonsense, how will we know when its the real deal?

Paracetamol is like gold dust at the moment. I have ibuprofen to hand. Paracetamol is also brutal on the liver.

If I have to resort to the full sweep of 'Parrots'/'Brufen'/DHC's I know I'll also be dealing with the 'impacts' that such long term exposure leads to?

Part of the reason I pull back from my 'Dr's orders and rather defer to the Anethesist who advised us in 'Pain clinic' (about using our meds 'to suit' our circumstances?) is to spare the 'complications'!

The meds I've given up 'messing with' are my 'Dizzie pills and my DHC's , these are 'Needed' with a capital 'N' otherwise I'm bedridden!

For temp control we used to use a 'rolling programme' to keep temps under check.

'Parrots' is 4 times a day and 'Brufen' 3 times a day so with 'spacing' the 24 hr period can be covered?

Try and keep your temp controlled, don't wait 'till you think you 'need it' as it'll take a while to be 'up and running' so just keep to the rolling prog times until the 'temperatures phase' is past?

Keep up to your fluids otherwise you risk your body 'Robbing fluids' from other areas (blood/stools) leading to their own issues!

If 'Chesty' prop up your bed on a few books and prop yourself up with pillows to keep airways clear.

'Vicks' on the souls of your feet as you go to bed also appears effective at keeping airways clear (ask an 'aromatherapy' dude why this should work or rub Garlic on the souls of your feet and see just how long it is before your armpits honk of Garlic?)

Avante! NetW!!!

According to the guy on Politics Live the movement to delay phase means that they have accepted that containment has now failed overall (though we still did better than our european peers) which means that the value of more random testing is reduced vs identifying who in worse than mild cases (i.e. those in hospital) has it.

The other two points are that firstly we only currently have the capacity to process 10,000 samples per day (the number should bump tomorrow since Sat and Sun showed a fall in testing - labs closed) which means deciding who is a testing priority and also that the rate of infection within hospitals (that percentage of cases to tests) is still a very good indicator of the wider numbers in society.

Ultimately there is little we can do until we see clear evidence from the likes of Italy that european quarantine lite works. Plus its better to do it in one sharp go than fail early and have to keep extending because we risked going for blind degrees of lockdown.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall. It doesn't rain very often here like other desert areas, but like the deadly floods in Libya last year showed, these rain events are likely becoming more extreme due to global warming.
