What on earth has happened there, looks like the aftermath of an earthquake, people need to show more respect to shops.

343 new cases....that’s a jump... guess more testing being done catching more cases

Yes that is a huge jump, very similar to what Germany/France had this time last week, so that should give a rough guide as to where we will be next week.

Also the deaths suggest France's ratio is probably about where we will be.

PS - good to see the testing increase again.

Yes I wonder why the change I thought people in hospital were only getting tested

Netherlands have 155 new cases, they are probably the closest match to us and have bring very close to our numbers the whole way through.

We were also very close to Switzerland last week.

I went shopping here and supermarket was half empty, fully stocked and nobody was hoarding. I think I met more people outside when I went for a run. I was pleasantly surprised.

Tests are still filtering through from those via 111 they're taking 3 to 4 days to get results by which time most who are fit and healthy have just about recovered

Latest testing and confirmation stats, big jump in tests. Proportion of confirmed cases in line with trends.

The local supermarket isn't too full here, which is nice, but the more concerning thing is they just arent restocking things like toilet roll, pasta, hand sanitisers and soap. They were clearly lying when they said the supply line was fine and they would replace stocks in a few days.

Is it just me, or does anyone-else find anticipating infection-/death-rates a wee bit disturbing? It's a tad too much like The National Lottery Live for my liking...:cc_confused:

Here we go again ?‍♂️

Can anybody explain this mania for loo rolls?

Do they believe that loo rolls will no longer be manufactured due to the virus?  Do they believe that they will be forced to stay at home for months on end without being able to resupply their bathrooms?  Is there money to be made on the black market perhaps?  Or is the loo paper being used to stuff into the gaps in windows and doors to prevent the virus from entering?

Its a mystery that might never be solved.

Why the leap in testing?

The NHS increased testing earlier in the week to up to 10,000 a day before it was decided to be done in hospitals only.

The figures from earlier in the week are now filtering through with a lag time of around 3 to 4 days from testing to getting the result

This is starting to concern me a little too. The suggestion that these things would be restocked in a few days just isn't happening.

There is a 3.6% chance of contracting diahorrea from the virus which is the only explanation I can think of for this madness

Are we certain its still 3 to 4 days lag? I'd seen that the results speed had sped up a lot too, but cant remember where, so I may be wrong
