NOAA (NCEP EMC) has started the new FV3-GEFS official evaluation period -- a major update to the U.S. flagship global ensemble weather modeling system. This has been a long time coming -- expecting to see real-time parallel data before June 2020. (H/t Ryan Maue)

Got to wonder if they will have the same cold bias as the current GFS (FV3)

Just noticed there is a GFS P V16 on meteociel (I’m assuming that’s an upgraded version of the old GFS P?)

The accompanying text reads “Resumption of parallel GFS runs for GFSv16 in test. Updates of the runs a bit random for the moment. 
GFS parallel runs are back for GFSv16 testing. Runs are updated quite randomly for now.”
