A cold wet start with rain, a low of 3.0 C and 8.2 mm since midnight, started about 0330 I think.

Heavy rain rapidly turned to heavy snow leaving all roads (main roads included) treacherous due to a lack of gritting

Currently calm with light snow

A vile start to the day with outbreaks of heavy rain.Current temperature of 8.5 degrees with a fresh Sw wind.Rainfall since midnight 12mm

Any clear spells early yesterday evening were soon filled in by increasing cloud and intermittent sleet arrived shortly after midnight followed by a period of dry weather before further sleet, heavy at times, reached here shortly before 0500. This quickly turned to rain with continuous moderate rain since then. Hill fog from around 0430 has just lifted.

A mild day after early sleet rapidly turned into heavy rain. The afternoon drier with sunny spells and a brief windy spell end of the afternoon early evening.
