22°C in central France today - what a shame we couldn't tap into that and have an early taste of spring. Everything in the wrong place unfortauntely.

Yep , every mild spell in Europe seems to stay on the continent

It didn't stay in Europe February last year when 21c (70f) was breached!

It didn't last July either when Cambridge Botanic Garden hit 38.7C and even Durham got to 32.9C!

Very chilly wind blowing here today, feels more like early February than mid March!

Looking forward to the upcoming sunny days though, it might be the longest settled period we've had in 2020 so far. ☀️

Yes, but those temps were nothing compared to continental Europe where 40C and even as high as 46C was being recorded. I'm pretty sure that former record is actually questionable. Certainly they were very unsure about it and then changed their mind.

Agreed, its absolute bliss seeing nearly a whole week of crisp, sunny days.

We've had subzero temps overnight, yet no frost. Annyoing, hopefully in the next few days we'll see some. There's been a few mild days this March but its actually been very average or cooler than average at times.

Cold, cloudy and windy there today, though, as that weather front edges S. At least much of the UK is seeing sunshine today, albeit with a strong and chilly wind. Here in Prague, it’s gone from 17°C and sunny to wet and 3°C in 24 hours, vile.

Thanks to the appalling non-winter this cold spell is going to do a lot of damage to plants and trees which have grown early. There are already cherry blossoms in bloom here.

Wednesday is looking like the coldest day here, with 2C and snow forecast. There might be a bit of snow on Sunday with some luck. Ironically, lying snow is the best hope for mitigating damage to plants; hard, dry frost is the worst scenario.

Same here in the UK. Flowers out and some trees staarting to bloom, but now frost is forecast. This winter was the warmest ever in Europe. Don't know how accurate it was, but checked the weather channel's monthly forecast for Berlin in February, and there were no days where the minima fell below 1C! No freezing tempreatures! Crazy. It's been less extreme here in the UK. Ridiculously high positive NAO. Ironically Greenland came close to recording its coldest ever tempreature.

We've just hit 110hrs of sunshine for March here (1981-2010 mean is 113hrs), so its looking like the 4th consecutive sunnier than average month coming up.

It has also been very dry too with just 12.0mm (25%) so far and little forecast for most of the week.

Absolute bliss

No rain in sight. Cold, but sunny.  This March makes up for the two months of crap weather that have preceded it.. Tempreatures actually 3-6C lower than what they should be where I am some days, 6Average for this time of year in essex is around 13C, low of 4C

More like "inaccuweather". Believe it when I'll see it. How it can narrow down the exact tempreature predicted, and as many have said, 27C in May isn't that high

Usually I see what Accuweather forecast, and then assume the opposite. 27c in May is the typical warmest day of the month in inner London.

March hasn't been particularly warm either. It has been average here.

If it's 30 day forecasts are anything to go on, certainly it cannot be trusted. It predicted several days of snow t hrought january and february which never formulated. it's autumn  weather forecast was also inaccurate for much of Europe I believe. I'll stick by the met office for now. even the bbc weather forecast always overestimates maxima and underestimates minima

They used to think that the average high in London in mid summer was 21c. If they can't even look up the correct averages (which are freely available on the MO site), then they can't be trusted for anything else.

Yeah, same for where I am in Essex they claim the average maximum is 6C - which is the maximum in the far north of england and southern scotland...god knows where they are getting their data from.

Where is most reliable for averages? The Weather channel data seems the most reliable, NOAA seems a little sketchy

The Met Office or KNMI are the most reliable. The Weatheronline climate robot is also good for temperatures; not so much for anything else though (lots of missing data).

Quite a wintry snap here in Prague with -6°C last night and -16°C recorded in the southern part of the country. Snow showers yesterday but sunny all day today, lovely. Getting a bit of colour on my face after a couple of days gardening.
