No - it will start cold but my advice is always remember its a season transition month, so whilst the cold first week (not exceptionally so) prohibited me from going for very mild March, i have still gone just the warm side of Average - I tend to use this as a rule for March - look at the models and make your projection for the first half, then unless there is a compelling reason (SSW etc), add at least 1c as a bare minimum to it.

Optimistic on a very slightly cooler March helped by a slightly cooler first week- finally some drier spells but also some wet.interludes with that strong vortex only slowly losing its grip I'll go with 6.2c and 72mms

Having seen Roger gunning for 9C I’m just curious as to what the first and second half of 2012 produced since I remember the final third especially being storming and a cool first few days.

Yes and I think there was a little snow, too?

2012 first few days were more than cool, it was bitter, there was Ice days with the -11c isotherm over us at one point and a moderate dumping of snow on the 4th followed by a freezing rain episode on the 9th.

EDIT : Thought we were in the Feb thread - i was talking total tosh.

Lol!  Slightly off topic, but February 2012 was one of those pear shaped winter months after that bitter start and looked to be very promising for cold overs!  A bit like 2009, albeit less snowy for many.

Roger up mine to 6.2c some warm days but some cold nights within the month.  HP could dominate over top of us with some continental flow
