Wind is starting to noticeably Gust here now, probably around 45/50 mph. Not that bad at all yet. But the rain is here properly now.

Follow the day’s developments as high winds, heavy rain and flooding expected to bring havoc in UK

What the hell are people going near the coast for, its not that windy on land, but over the sea it is, and the swell is massive.

Sounds good, minus the sausages!

Stay safe...

Lets just hope that people don't decide to go surfing again in crazy conditions like these!

(I'm not sure if that was the cause of the two deaths, but still, surfing in those conditions is not recommended!)

Gusting quite a bit here in Ashford. Just received an automated phonecall off EA to say we are on Flood Alert (3rd time this week!).

Go back to our "twelve days of Christmas" mock up - "seven surfers sinking"...'tis fun for them without wit. Having said that I've done mad things in my life. just not that mad...

Surprised this shed next to my house hasn't moved a bit considering that it got completely disassembled by Storm Ciara!

For those 'missing' the rain/wind take mine!!! it's turned foul out there again......but then I guess you'll be seeing on the news just what we are copping if what turned up at the bottom of my garden is anything to go by? (I thought it was supposed to be Fairies down there?)

Well fascinated by the possibility of an event to remember. Let’s hope they are all stone cold sober so they are not an example for everyone else .

Looking at the radar there’s a lot of very heavy rain in the north and north west. Nothing really noticeable further south bar the extreme south east/east.

According to the forecast there should be heavy rain for most parts of the country overnight and into the early hours of tomorrow. I suspect it is too early for this to be showing on the radar at this stage.

Looking out my window here on the isle of wight. Just a wet windy Saturday afternoon.

Not much of a storm down here at the moment.

I'll second that, from here just over the water. 11mm rain so far, and to be fair, it did blow my wheelie bin over a few minutes ago ... gust to 54 mph at Soton airport, as forecast by the Met Office..

Tonight and early tomorrow is forecast to be worse than today, down here.

River Usk has bursts its Banks in Brecon

The River Usk bursts its banks at several points in Powys, including Brecon and Crickhowell.

here in the valleys, despite the radar showing light rain, it generally looks heavy and being brought in on winds like last week ... just fewer of them
