A surfer missing in Sussex has been found alive. Great. Now they can send the moron a bill for the callout for his stupidity.

You wont be lurking much longer if you are up on a roof tommorow

Even doors are getting windy ?

Which model does xcweather use?

Several hours of 60-70 mph gusts for the London stations apparently. Perhaps overdone a bit? but i've never seen them that high before..

are there any actual satellite pictures yet of the storm forming

Haven't seen any yet but you can look at the general shape of things to come, here:

Looks like were gonna get squeezed out in the mangle. Sustained but still weakish winds here now near Bristol.

Well, tomorrow looks like a very interesting day. That tornado symbol on @Nick F 's forecast is almost directly on top of me (doesn't mean I'll get a tornado of course ?)

The wind is really starting to pick up here. I'll set some alarms during the night to feel the strength of the wind and perhaps see a few lightning strikes if there will be any!

Stay safe all.

Maybe someone could explain to me, why with Amber Weather warnings in force with hurricane force winds expected to reach their peak during tomorrow afternoon. 3 televised football matches are due to take place :

Premier League

4.30pm - Manchester CityvWest Ham United

2pm - Sheffield UnitedvAFC Bournemouth

Sky Bet Championship

1.30pm - MillwallvWest Bromwich Albion

Is the weather going to avoid those areas? Surely this is fool hardy and dangerous simply in the pursuit of money?

This station up in the hills in North Wales is pretty windy already:

Weather Underground provides local & long-range weather forecasts, weather reports, maps & tropical weather conditions for locations worldwide.

It is quite exposed though and as I mentioned, up in the hills near Snowdonia.

Very windy and wet now in the Conwy Valley, North Wales - about 8 miles from Capel Curig.

If I've understood the charts correctly, the impact of Ciara will not arrive here until sometime after 6am.
