He's always down there, I think there are a couple of guys who do it. Have to say I was really surprised to see him out there at high tide.

Just had the squall line through here....wow, absolutely incredible. Unfortunately have sustained some roof damage that has somewhat tarnished my enjoyment! ?‍♂️

Pretty innocuous looking now at the north tip of Scotland. Kiss goodbye to Ciara and all eyes now on snowfall coming from the west.

Thankfully the defences have held for carlisle and the rivers seem to be peaking. Metoffice seriously underestimated the rain

And overestimated the wind in some areas...

Just been hit by the squall line in Southend and that was something special. I could see it coming down the road towards me until it hit me and I was drenched within 20 seconds.

NUmerous Flood warnings and alerts, two severe warnings for north Wales, one for North Yorkshire. More heavy showers to come today and further coastal flood risk as Atlaqntic swell picks up for new week.

no. the pressure system is now moving in an easterly direction hence the bands are now moving in a more east to west.
bloody annoying though. its going to be close whether it even skims us both in our towns. grrr!

Wasn't as bad as I thought in the end, as the squall line weakened in the sector I was under as it approached.  Still has very squally winds and exceptionally heavy storm rain, though.

To be fair, by their criteria, Estofex's warning has verified perfectly - that squall line was convective in nature, enhanced the speeds of the underlying wind field and its winds undoubtedly exceeded 49kt in places.
