Very strong wind gusts here. I went to Galley Hill and had coffee in the De La Warr. The wind has only strengthened since then, with some truly wild gusts round across Bexhill. My fence is nearly destroyed...

Picture provided barely does the scene justice.

So basically between the two squalls, is where the wind is?

The squall just came through here and wow thought it was a hurricane, some of the best/worst weather I've seen probably since the May 2018 thunderstorms.

Damage to sheds and a tree is almost down after the squall, tried to upload pics and vids but it won't let me choose the file type to upload them, any ideas?

Short clip of the squall as it moved into Belper

A squall line associated with Storm Ciara passes over Belper producing a brief period of powerful winds and torrential rain.

Hmm. Squall line wandered over Reigate and seems pretty burnt out.

You seem determined to find fault with the models even though the worst is yet to come for the south.

I know I could be wrong but the winds dont seem to be increasing if not moderating to me, I guess we will find out .

I agree with your thoughts on the current situation, but we still have the main squall line to our north.

A World War Two era siren has sounded across Leeds - as the flood warning in some areas hits critical level.

The winds here on the SE coast have picked up massively now. Some very intense gusts too. Could be interesting when that squall line reaches us. It’s extremely rough now

Suns out, blue skies overhead with the clouds clearing out and down to just a bit of a breeze, amazing contrast to just 30 mins ago o_O

First squall going through Worthing now.

Is it now, between the two squall lines, that the winds are meant to peak?

A tree looks like it's about to snap on someone's house. Not good.

I'm currently pricing up gravel boards, concrete posts and close board panels, so you can guess what's happened here..

It seems to be, we are in Northants, where the jumbled showers in front of the main squall line are, and its getting ferocious now.

Squall went through here in South Cheshire at 11.45am, winds then increased for a while but sky has now cleared and sun is out. However, thinking back to the destructive gale of 18th January 2007, when the wind suddenly increased in a clear blue sky and after the rain had cleared, I will not be putting the bins out any time soon! Barometer 978 and now steady.

Was waiting for that cold front to move through in Hereford before drawing conclusion, but certainly here in Hereford for some reason it wasnt bad at all, wouldnt even give it a yellow warning here.

It looks very weak on this side.

dingwall  near inverness at about 500 feet ,it's been not to bad here ,no wind very quiet ,ferries not going to isle of Lewis today ,few rain showers and started the day with a fluffy snow shower ,all coming straight down ,not sideways as usual, looks like we are near the centre  ,i'm sure it'll pick up ,it's just doing odd things up here
