Oh wow, strongest gust yet, had to be 60mph.

Most of the country is under Heavy Rain except the South for now, but that will change.

Met office had the south under loads of rain yesterday all looks to have moved north to me.

This is hectic here near the Coast in North Wales! I’m on a caravan park and definitely haven’t slept much tonight!

Very, very scary.

Not a windy night here and only some rain earlier on that indicated a storm around. Looks like we will miss out on the excitement.

So far the damage has been limited to branches but I think that might change. I was 6 in the St. Judes storm and I remember that vividly. If this is as bad as that then I'm super excited!!

It does seem that way, but a cold front has to pass south through the country at some point for the cold air to come behind it as its quite mild air today even though it doesn't feel like it in the wind.

Come on PIT I get the current observations but that last sentence is nonsense. Have you seen how much rain is waiting out to the west?

Also in the past 10 minutes or so the wind has really picked up.

Morning.

Very windy night, but house and garden appear more or less intact!

Still no decision from the local football league(we were discussing their indecision on here yesterday) but I've decided to cancel anyway. If they give me a fine, then they can shove it!

It's going to be unplayable out there. Dead ball situations will be impossible as the ball simply won't stay put, not to mention the inability to kick the ball up the pitch if you're playing into the wind!

I'm having a kickabout with my mates at lunch time but we're under no illusions about being able to play properly, it's just for fun and to experience the wind!

Good idea. My kids game was cancelled ages ago but we do play at a. Ground called windy park . We’re at a top of a cliff on the North Cornwall coast .

yeah, I'm sure they could play; I've played in similar conditions before and it was a laugh (my mate still talks about his wind assisted free kick goal from decades ago which then lead to him insisting on taking every free kick we got for the next ten years), but that was as adults. I can't see the merit in making my 11 year olds play in it - but some coaches seem so focused on the game and the result it's ridiculous

A wild night here in Saddleworth. Woke up several times with the wind and rain and crashes of bins fences being blown about.

Really starting to pick up here in the Stoke area, looking like there's a squall line coming through here soon.

Winds picking up even more here, During peak gusts water troughs in the fields under the walls are even braking wave sending spray flying.
