As if people think we are all in this together though Pete? Most people seem to either not care, it won't happen to them, if it gets it gets me, yes I need all this pasta and loo roll, and there is no need to worry. Very self self self.

This is a virus, imagine a war. Can't see people these days digging up their lawns and growing their own and swapping a bunch a carrots for a sack of tatties. People would just go and help them selves to someone elses garden.

I really don't see much togetherness in this.

You're probably right but I have seen people helping others already, especially within my close group of friends.

I've also promised myself that if I get this thing relatively early and recover, that once i've recovered and am no longer infectious, I will go out and physically help those in need.

But what Nick is saying we should be, he is probably not saying that is what will happen.,

But those of us who really are 'in this together' need stick together: coronaviruses might be clever, but they sure can't distinguish an 'ordinary' human being from an arcehole!:oldlaugh:

I'm amazed, I've just looked at Milan's airport and there are STILL flights coming over from there, indeed there is one due to land in Manchester pretty soon!

Whilst alot have now been cancelled, still flights to Moscow, Berlin, Manchester, Kiev, Lyon, Dublin, Cairo, Lisbon and the list goes on (all of those in the next 4hrs!). Still not enough of a lockdown to stop this spread IMO.

As for schools, we will see, I do understand the logic that kids aren't vectors, however IF you want to stop people going out and to reduce the risk of spread, having them be forced to stay home may well be the ticket.

Kids aren,t vectors - ??? Anyone know the latest on spread from kids, l know not many display symptoms. The reason I ask is because my wife child minds from home so we have a lot coming and going and coughing, sneezing etc, we also have relatives with serious health issues..... Trying to decide if we should close for now...

Well it's doing a mighty fine job of showing what a bunch of arceholes the human race really are!

FK this education stuff - so what if kids have to have a year off to save their lives then so be it, if that means they end up working one xtra year till they're 70 instead of 69 after being 1 year out of education - price worth paying.

It's all very well saying "close schools" to protect rhe children and the adults they'd come into contact with, but does anyone in here really believe their parents would then self-isolate them? Course they wouldnt. They'd be going around to friends' houses, in an even smaller confined space than a school. Maybe take them to a softplay, to the cinema, to the Wild Place, the zoo....the list is endless of places they'd be taken to socialise.

Going out on their own the older school children would be off to the shopping mall, the cinema, the city centre, McDonalds, blah, blah.

Get real guys.

Oh dear, thats our closest analogue at the moment and if they have just had a jump, we can't be far behind. If we have another day of middling increases we really are going to be riding our luck well!

Very soon everything like that will be shut down as it is in Italy, there won't be a zoo, cinema, etc to go to.

Besides the children don't need protecting, they really aren't at much risk anyway.

For the first time in history I'd be telling my boy to go on his Playstation rather than come off it.

No not a cure as such, it'll help people whose immune system is attacking the lungs instead of virus though.

One of the kids at bubs school has just beaten Cancer. We are still being told if our kids get illness such as chicken pox we need to make sure the schools knows.  Look back at my post regarding those kids going to that wedding - any of them could carry it, but be 'fine'.

I hope and pray for that little one it doesn't come near here.

France is heading towards a lockdown..

Meanwhile a quarter of a million are attending Cheltenham in this country.

Not good enough.

I wouldn't be all that surprised, some parts of Spain can't be far off either, especially in the Madrid area.

Hungary's measures are probably what is needed, I would almost certainly be banning flights from Italy coming over, and probably start to think about Madrid as well (though that does leaves problem given the football later...)

Macron to announce new measures tonight as the country struggles to contain the spread of the virus.

Maybe he will rethink his stance on closed borders the miserable sod.

Spain now upto 2124 cases and obviously still increasing, daily rise likely to be above 600 at this rate. Looking very similar to Italy now...

If we go up by less than a 100 cases we have done really well, or been very lucky. Just a matter of time before we get one of those big jumps...

If things go as planned should see the update for the UK in about half a hour

Expecting a increase close to a 100? Due to increased testing

If we can keep the new cases to under 80 today I think we can all deem that good news.

A 3 figure increase will cause more public panic and move the governments plans forward.

Not sure that’s come in yet and there’s a delay  of a few days to get the results currently.

He should stay home. You really can't depend on other people being hygienic or even knowing they are infected
