We have been pretty good on testing even with limited numbers to be fair. Although I'd be harder on air travel especially I think some people are starting to panic a little early.

The problem is to take the South Korea route, you need to test far more than we have done. We haven't done badly thus far on testing, but as things are ramping up, that needs to ramp up as well. I'd say we probably need to do at least 4-5x the testing to have a hope of locking it down in the UK, and even then its likely to still blow up to a fairly high level given the lag.

For example, I think South Korea have done way over 200,000 tests now (I think at peak they were doing 20,000 tests), and even that is only just about keeping a lid on it and they are doing an outrageous job in the positive way.

As for the economy, we are in a global world and that is stuffed whether we take action or not at this point.

I think it'd be better if the same measures were adopted across the UK, there's no point in Scotland doing it if England and Wales aren't.

Would be interested to hear where she thinks the money is going to come from to cover the huge financial losses that businesses, football clubs etc are going to take if it goes on for an extended period.

37 new deaths in Spain rising the total to 84

2968 cases as well now being reported, so since last night its gone up by nearly 700.

Safe to say, this has to be a warning shot of how rapidly things can change if a cluster gets going in a highly populated area.#

I hope the government are not using the outbreak in South Korea as an example because those cases were highly concentrated in one city, whereas ours are more widespread and therefore much more difficult to contain.

74% of the South Korean confirmed cases were in Daegu.

Only 22% of the UK confirmed cases are in London, with the remaining cases spread throughout the UK at around ~10% (+/-5%) for each region.

The interesting thing (for me) is that he is reporting he has the runs, when social is of full of 'this bug doesn't cause that'

Think it's 5-10% of cases.  something to consider is that he is a medic, so would have been in an environment with plenty of other bugs.

Think that its inevitable that yesterday was the last champions league matches, at least for the next 30-45 days. Clearly going to be a massive headache for what is a really packed out sporting calendar.

Havn`t watched the news for 2 days but what does this say.

Time To Wall Ourselves Off As China Did ? UK’s ineffective border control is weakest link in fight against Covid-19.

Thats a big yes.

Whilst China’s draconian measures, harshly criticized by the western media, are beating the coronavirus, Britain is importing it. We can’t possibly hope to...

Pity, as a Liverpool fan, that it wasn’t cancelled before last night

Not necessarily. An even(ish) spread, with relatively low numbers, gives regional/local nhs trusts closer control of spread and containment.

Some of the questions being asked by the public on this sky news panel show are atrocious and makes people sound so thick, that's not the worse bit though...the so called expert in the studio is clueless.

Spain now heading into Italian territory. But I think 2968 is the total cases, not the new ones?
